Default No ram Air, but I got my First 01 LS1 Trans AM

I saw a lot of Ram Airs. And drove both a 2000 with Ram Air, and a few 01 without. I really did not feel much of a difference. So I did some talks with my insurance company. Without the RAM air but still a 5.7L ls1 2001 Trans Am 25k miles on it. My Insurance from a 02 Eclipse GT, did not move. It stayed the same. I was like "ok lets do it then." I went threw quite a few cars looking, Z28, Trans Am? I finally saw a color I liked and the extras I liked. So I went for it. After trying so many.
It Runs freaking awesome. Only thing I want to change. Is the tint is not perfect. And the left Flip up light "only a few times" has to be tried twice to get it to go up. So I read on how they use a plastic gear on the lights and how to change that. Besides that. Thing drives awesome. And something odd I noticed. When you don't dive it hard. You hardly run over 2 grand RPM. And its not bad on gas. But when you want it to go, Whewww, pretty good. The Eclipse was hard to just cruise. It had to be run pretty heavy or it felt like it was just gona stall. This car can just cruise at a sweet low RPM. At highway speeds. The Car turns better than I thought. It sticks pretty good. And feels vary solid. I actually like the traction control for launches. I don't burn apart tires. They spin some. And spin when it hits into second some. But it keeps it pulling smooth and hard. And saves my tires. I don't like to run on streets. My dad "as I said before was a drag racer" and I have raced motocross since like 5 years old. But I got to test it against a younger teens Acura "which he had a turbo in", who killed my Eclipse GT. He did not think this car could be that much faster. I did not know for sure my self. So I said ok, you know I don't run on streets to much, but ok one run. Within maybe less than a quater of a mile I had that car beat by at least 6 to 7 car lengths. I let off as if it was over, he stayed full go and passed, He had a tun more momentum. I did not, but I got back on a re caught him twice. Way faster than My Eclipse GT. It was not even close. I could just toy with him. But like I said. Only once. I try not to do that to much. And he knows that too. I rather get rad on tracks. Remember he beat my GT Eclipse. And My GT Eclipse was not stock. And it beat most every little rice car around. And he beat that car bad. So his car was not slow. This thing is just awesome thow.

You could see it was dirty on the rear pic.

Hay I like that black Imperial. My Cousin has one. I think he still has it? But he did not have a 440 in it. I havent seen him in a while. But im moving back thier so I will see what hes up to. My ant said he on another project again. So will see what that is. He has a few cars now he plays with. And she said he cant wait to see mine. Hes good with restoration. So it will be nice to have him around after my dad passed. If I need help on something. My dream would be to have my Trans Am "above to drive. And to work on a car. That car would be my dads last car he had. A 69 SS.

congrats! I wouldn't worry about RA, there's not a lot of difference in power and you can always add that.

enjoy your new ride man!

Excellent choice on color.

I believe that in '01 and '02 the non-WS6 T/A's were less common than the WS6 equiped cars.
