The gas cap does reach.. I don't know if it is misprinted in the jrp faq or something but I own a 2000 camaro and my gas cap tether is long enough to fit on the little peg when the gas door is completely open.. just throwing that out there if anyone cares.

haha what are you saying some are longer than others? You just put the cap top facing up towards you, I mean it's a snug fit (pretty much no play left at all) but you can do it
Not that it really matters. They both serve their function, you can just do more with the long one.
