The guy told me you can pay for a 6-month warranty for $200 up to a total of 3 years.

I think the price needs a little more work, otherwise a very clean car. I'm not a believer in warranties from these places. I have yet to see them do what you want them to, they will wiggle out of it if something happens, guaranteed.

I paid 4k for my 99 SS, it had 188k on it when I got it, 195k now, daily driven and gets in the 12's without any fuss. Of course the dood was asking more and I was paying cash, so that helps alot. I assume you will be financing, not too much wiggle room there.

Oh, by the way, it's been pretty reliable with such high miles? I'm hoping the LS1 I get will be more reliable overall than the LT1 I've had for nearly the past 4 years.

I pulled a valve cover when I went to look at it to see what the motor looked like inside, regular maintenance and what not. Also, IMO if the interior has been kept up well, chances are probably pretty good that the rest of the car was maintained.
I havent had anything but the normal LS1 stuff, and a few higher mileage related things, like the axle bearings. The only thing Im struggling with is the damn o2 sensors going out every time I hit some water.

I found a '96 SS with 97K miles on it for $5650. I'm sure we could offer $5K cash or just a hair over and they'd take it. What do you guys think? I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow, and it looks clean in the pictures.
