The guy told me you can pay for a 6-month warranty for $200 up to a total of 3 years.

I think the price needs a little more work, otherwise a very clean car. I'm not a believer in warranties from these places. I have yet to see them do what you want them to, they will wiggle out of it if something happens, guaranteed.

I also did find this very nice 2000 SS with 101K miles in Florida for $6977. I'm trying to get him down to $6500.

I paid 4k for my 99 SS, it had 188k on it when I got it, 195k now, daily driven and gets in the 12's without any fuss. Of course the dood was asking more and I was paying cash, so that helps alot. I assume you will be financing, not too much wiggle room there.

No. I emailed the SS guy and said I would bring cash. He hasn't replied yet. I might just call him after everything is confirmed. My Dad is finally more than likely going to let me borrow the difference after selling my car.

Oh, by the way, it's been pretty reliable with such high miles? I'm hoping the LS1 I get will be more reliable overall than the LT1 I've had for nearly the past 4 years.

Well I brought mine home for $1800 less than what was being asked because I wipped out the money and made the offer. Right here, right now

I pulled a valve cover when I went to look at it to see what the motor looked like inside, regular maintenance and what not. Also, IMO if the interior has been kept up well, chances are probably pretty good that the rest of the car was maintained.

I havent had anything but the normal LS1 stuff, and a few higher mileage related things, like the axle bearings. The only thing Im struggling with is the damn o2 sensors going out every time I hit some water.

I think this guy is really set on $6K. What's a more reasonable price? $5K?

For the 2000 SS in Florida? Hell ya that's an awesome deal assuming its been maintained. If its all good, 6k is doable, for 7k, he can go sit on something hard.

You paid too much.

98 was the only year i wouldnt consider, different heads, different PCM, its essentially the vintage LS1.

I found a '96 SS with 97K miles on it for $5650. I'm sure we could offer $5K cash or just a hair over and they'd take it. What do you guys think? I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow, and it looks clean in the pictures.

Its another LT1, but you know that. For just a little more you can get the LS1 you really want. Be patient, one will pop up.
