Removing A.I.R. from an 01 WS6, good idea?
I've found no shortage of instructions on how to delete AIR, but can't seem to find a good opinion on whether or not it is a good idea. I just added an SLP lid, and don't really want a stupid hose sticking around with a breather filter on it, I'd like my engine bay as clean as possible. I've heard some people say deleting AIR is good, and others say that their gas mileage went down the drain after doing it. I'm looking for the bottom line...good idea or bad idea?

I never really noticed a difference with out it. Actually one of the first things I did. I piece of cake to do. If your on stock manifolds don't waste money on block off plates.... I just cut the flanges off the tubes with a dremel found some thin tin around the shop cut it to fit the bottom and JB welded them together and bolted them right back on with no problems

whoever said their A.I.R system made their gas mileage suffer is smoking crack. your air system only turns on when you first start your car to reduce emissions until your catalytic converters warm up and start doing their job, you can actually hear your air pump shut off after a couple of minutes when you first start it and it doesnt come on anymore until the the car cools off again. I say Get rid of it!!!

With cats--bad idea IMO.
The air pump is mainly there for the cats.
If you have cats leave it on, take it off if/when you take the cats off.
If you don't want to see the hose take it off and put a breather right on the pump.
