not too sure about that. a friend of mine is getting about 385 rwhp out of a hotcam and full exhaust from a 02 WS6 M6. the car is full weight and traps about 113.

Both posts stating they made over 400rwhp have much larger cams than the 10 year old GM hot cam. Possibly if you do heads and a GM hot cam, and spend a lot of time on a tune on an M6 I might happen but simply stepping up to the modern "small" cams like a 224 will be a ton better than the GM hot cam and still be just as streetable as a GM hot cam. Regardless since I see you have started a couple threads on this it seems you are dead set on the hot cam anyhow so just get what you want.

a gm hot cam is very small... check out the SI3
http://www.speedinc.com/catagory.cfm...in%20/%20Heads
great street manners, and still maintains great gas mileage.
Talk to Larry or Fraser at speed inc!!! they will help you out!
I run the SI5, i would not recommend it for a DD, but more for a fun weekend/race car.
my car is a weekend warrior and track slave. very choppy idle too. dynoed 430rwhp, cam only + bolt ons.
Much of what effects, a great cam for DD, is the tune of pcm and the LSA (lobe seperation angle) of the cam. a lower number = choppier idle, a higher number = smoother more streetable idle or sleeper/stealth feel.
110lsa
112lsa
are both choppy idles
114 on up starts to smooth out with 116 being very smooth
Also peak HP on a dyno doesnt always win races. Its a combination of all your parts and gearing. Undercurve power is great for the street, so dont be afraid of the smaller cams. Just pick up the parts that compliment the car. Dont worry about the high dyno queen numbers.
For ex: a car with a huge cam, that is trapping 5000rpms in the quarter mile is not going to win races, but a car with a smaller cam trapping 6500 rpm will win. yes rearend gearing plays into this too.
however for daily driving fun you will enjoy the low end torque of the SI3. Most larger cams for the 400+ range will slap you in the seat only at high rpms not down low. When street driving/racing who can really launch high in the rpm without cooking their tires for ever. This is where a smaller cam will be fun!

i have seen ONE hotcam/fast combo break 400 rwhp, but other than that, i would go with a 224/228 or 228/23X combo to make the power you want and still have street manners, or better yet, just have pat g or predator z spec you out a cam for your wants
