It's all that millisecond shifting and you don't feel the 5th gear

i will admit my first dead hook was ******* awesome....even though you may not believe it, i could feel the Gs pushing back on my eyeballs in first gear on my 1.69 60 foot pass. first gear is a beast in the 4l60s. after that its not much fun.

So from 3.42 to a 3.73 gear isnt worth it.... I would of thought it made a diffrence

i think it will help, but the general consensus is 4.10s are best for 6 speeds. besides yall have double OD trans so hwy mpg doesnt suffer hardly at all.

Don't take it the wrong way. It's still worth it, just different preferences I guess. Read up in the gears and axles section and you'll see what I mean. 3.73's to 4.10's isn't gonna be much of a difference, but 3.42's to 3.73 will be noticeable.

Well it should be worth something. It is an upgrade after all. They had a point though about the 4.10's in the 10 bolt. Probably not a good idea to go that low on a stock rear. For some reason I just figured you had an aftermarket rear

4.10s or higher would keep ours super high strung on the highway.

i believe those gears have smaller teeth then say 3.42s but often its the torsens that break before the gears.

Im like you....I learn a lot from reading but I also have a bunch of hands on knowledge with Vettes....and a little from F-Bodys from working on my friends SS. I do lack track experience though.

I has a high "book" IQ also. Hell, I guess you have to to graduate with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology

When my car is done, I wanna meet some of you guys that I havent met before and go to the track also

I need that rear if it is in good shape. Mine is almost gone. I think when the turbo hits it it will be all over.
