Josh if you ran a 12.1 why did you not run in the 12.00 index? Sounds like you took the easy way out, enjoy the trophy. Next time you need to race someone to win something. I mean that is what I call drag racing, beating someone in the other lane.

 

The only thing I can see is that Thunder Road is feeling out what kind of car count they are going to get in the different classes. With other tracks having already started their points season before TRRP opened I don't see how this year is going to show much. I hope they stay in there with us. They have been offering some good pay-outs, but they need fans in the stands and a good car count to keep this up. Running all the classes on one night may be the answer (bracket,index,import,oulaws & bike), But one thing is for sure we need to put more than one car in the class. I liked the idea of running a street class for cash, but it looks like that has gone back to trophy street. Sure would like to see our LS1tech races again, how many of ya'll would be interested in getting the Ark-La-Tex LS1tech group back up and helping the track with a good car count in street.

Is there any chance of just having a bracket class on Friday nights? Even if it's only 1-2 times a month. Fridays are much easier on most of us street guys. Set up the pot according to car count. We will be there.

Yeah it sucks that I didn't have anyone to run against. Shoulda unhooked my truck and had my dad run me in it just to have someone in the other lane haha. Now that it's back open, you'll see me and that car out there atleast every other weekend cause that's how my work schedule is. People will start to show, sadly though it probably wont be til it gets cool again. Usually my bunch is out there, but I know most of them had prior engagements goin on or there woulda been atleast 3-4 extra cars in that class and we woulda had some good racing for that class or we all woulda ran the 11.50 class so we wouldnt have to slow down any.

Well if they woulda had a 12.0 class I woulda done that one. People have to show up for me to run against someone. I didn't want the win that way at all, but the trophy was dated so I figured I might as well take it. If people would quit bitching about it being hot and come out then there would be people to race against. Racing is about passion and competition not good weather so I can run faster. Thats why we have all these calculation to make up for the weather and properly adjust for the time to show what it actually woulda ran. I'm not a time chaser and wait for cooler weather. I know the car runs 11's but with that heat and the choked exhuast I thought it ran fairly decent.

113mph. My time slips were 2 tenths off from my 11.8 run so it all adds up to be right. 10* cooler and I woulda been hammering the 11's again. But like I said, I'm not waiting on cooler weather to run the 11's. I'm sure in that heat I wasn't the only one showing slightly slower times.

yea just kinda hard to work on two cars so im getting rid of it and i think it would be easier to get rid of by parting it out rather than fixing it and selling it. the vette got a new drag set up ordered so i should be good for a little while

yea i left that night and it shifted perfect when i ran in D but if i run in S it will hit the rev limiter almost everytime.

i went to the monroe track and i had to take off in 2nd gear (stock runflat tires) and i was running 12.29 at 116 still spinning best 60 that day was 1.95

 

Just throwing this out there, last night at my pool match a guy told me that he had a 98 red T-top T/A with less than 40,000 miles on it that was in mint condition. He is going to sell very soon, he did not give me a price. If anyone would be interested I will get you a name & phone number.
