I said u could, not necessarily that he was. I see what guys on here do with a stock motor and 7psi. maybe its me but even the *rough estimate* hilton gave is considered gobs to me. Maybe your defintion of gobs is different than mine. 100+hp on a stock motor isn't nothing to sneeze at.

Your black trans-am was prolly making about 100 hp over stock. Hiltons with the torquer V3 was as well.

It's my understanding that the LS1 responds very nicely to boost. You just have to make sure it's done right, and with the right tune. Too much boost is bad if your **** aint forged, but that pretty much applies to any turbo application....typically...
For example,
An oddball in the boost vs. forged internal rule would be the EcoTec. Before the release of the Cobalt, the 3.25 years of Cavalier production with the EcoTec had Hahn Racecraft as the leader in turbo development for GM in the Sport Compact Series, which was IHRA I believe. That famous orange Cavalier with the white flamejob was destroying the contenders in that series left and right, producing over 1000hp and running in the 7's. Anyways, to get back to my point, Hahn discovered that the EcoTec was surprisingly reliable and responsive under only 8 lbs. of boost, all on stock crank and stock internals. They torture tested the system and simply could not break the engine. They even cranked it to 30psi and it didn't go boom.
FYI, that system I just mentioned is now what's in the Cobalt SS, Skyy Redline, and Solstice GXP.

So, some folks will argue that ya better forge your internals no matter what if ya going with boost. As described above, it's not always necessary. As far as the LS1, I'd do tons of research to find out how safely you can boost at Xpsi without dropping the $5k or so it would take to really build a boosted beast.

Hey guys. I'm not sure how many of you were friends with Roach, but I have some memorial decals for any of you that will be bringing your rides to the funeral or even if you just want to represent for a guy who loved anything fast. It does have the Firebird logo on it, so that may not be great for all of ya'll but it was what he loved. Anyway, hit me up if you want one or just swing by my office at 4004 Shed Rd. Cell is 572-6677.

I decided to start working on the TA and I'm making a little progress. Motor and trans is in and now I'm waiting on some fuel system parts and other things to get here. I have almost everything I need to get it running. Also have a complete old school SBC Procharger kit thats new in the box that we are going to try to make work. I talked to the guys at Procharger today and they claim all I need to make it work is a different crank pulley. We'll see
