Default Nitrous Outlet Drag Radial Nitrous Car.

Thought I would take a minute to drop a small post about my personal project.

Last year I sold all my cars to buy a 2010 camaro. After waiting 8 months for it to come in it was very short lived. A young girl not paying attention rear ended me at 65pluss mph. It really put a bad taste in my mouth and I started rethinking the street car idea again. Well after the car set in the body shop for 3 months a buddyy of mine was looking to sale his race car and he made me a deal I just could not pass up.

So I promised my wife when ever the car was finished being repaired she could do what ever she wanted with it and I would just stick to a track car.

With her permission if picked up a 98 camaro with a 414 cubic inch iron block in it. Power feed to the 9 inch by a power glide.

The car is by no means perfect and I want to change the intire top end, paint job and some other minor things but Race season is here and I want to go play and I know if I tear into the car that far I will never find time to be able to work on my own car and put ot backl together. So here is what I am doing.

I am yanking the GMPP intake off the car that is plumbed with a Nitrous Outlet Dry directport and a wet plate. I am in the process of plumbing a Super Victor intake with a wet directport and a set of sigle spray bars for a total of two stages. I am yanking the 98pcm and harness and swaping to a 99 up pcm and harness so that I can use my EFI live for tuning.

It has ARP head bolts and it needs to be swaped to studs but I have not decided if I want to do that now or later.

I am completely rewiring the nitrous system to fit what works best for me.

Next year I will switch to a Fast system, change the percy glass out to the new style, repaint the car and change the CNC ported LS6 heads to some trick flows. I have some other small things I want to do but those are the big things.

I took the car out for the first time last sunday and I trashed the convertor but I did get one N/A pass. Madman did a great job setting this car up. It hooked on a poorly preped track and busted a 1.4 60 ft and I managed a 10.4@127mph letting out a tad early because I did not know how well the brakes would work and the shut down area is scary at the track I was at.

I was hoping to make some more N/A passes in order to get to know the car but after that pass the convertor was gone. It currently transbreaks all the way up to 6500 rpm pretty easy so I am pretty sure its the convertor.

Anyways I will be posting up pictures of my Nitrous set up as I plumb it and set the car up.

Here are the specifics on the system I am putting on the car.

Super Victor intake plumbed with two stages.
One stage being a direct port and the other stage being a spray bar in the intake. THe spray bar set up will have a custom solenoid mount to give it that sex appeal all our plumbing jobs have.

I will be using a Nano system on this car. In the past I have always used dual bottles to maintain pressure drop but I am trying to keep the weight down in the car and we have had such great results on the cars we have installed nanos on I figured it may give us the edge I am looking for. Less wieght and less work embetween rounds to maintain bottle pressure.

I will be using a set of our billet bottle brackets that nicely mount the nitrous and nano bottle in the back of the car on the rear deck. The system will be feed by a 6 an feed line with a master shut off valve by the drivers seat and it will use our new high flow stacked Ys to split to each system.

I will set the sytem up so that I can eaily change things to fit differnet rules for different classis. For races that do not allow us to use two stages I will easily be able to un plug the spray bar stage and use the directport on a progressive feature if needed.

In all reality this car is not near fast enough to compete with these big drag radial cars that are out there. My expectation of the car is going to be a high 8. Many of our customer have much faster cars but I just want to be able and have fun with something of my own. I have no intention of using company money to build a race car. Our money is better spent in expanding our product line and R&D into new products.

Ill let our customers with the bigger pocket books show what our products can do.lol

So stay tuned for pictures of the set up and how it comes together.

Here is a picture of the car from last weekend.

Thanks guys..
Noyzee, Ill deffintly let you know if I need anything.

Chris, It is funny the shirt matches the car..

Badmoon. You are correct. Its temple. Nothing like a left hand hook for a shut down area.

Tony, This is my first car with a glide.. You are going to love the swap. Point and shoot shift one time.

John, Ill deffintly get some video as we start making our way to the track.

Brian, I need one of those bad *** wiring boards for the car.

I understand where you are coming from, but isn't a race car the perfect development platform for R&D of new products?

Cant wait to see what you come up with. Are you keeping the 414 or are you going to do a aftermarket block and bigger cubes, 275 is killer nowadays LOL.
