I thought knock retard as caused by detonation,if you get rid of detonation there should be no retard.

It's very hot these days, you live in California, it's hot there. Where I live on a hot day some cars will start getting detonation with a stock tune on our 93 octane we get here. If I remember correctly you showed your settings on your TT were like +1 base & +2 over 3k rpm's. So you are adding timing during the worse time of the year & maybe not pulling enough timing on the spray to compensate.

I have my TT set at 0 & 0 & am only using it to pull timing on the spray. Maybe this fall & winter when my DA gets low and some times it's even in the high negatives then I'll be adding much timing according to ATAP.

How do you know you have gotten rid of your detonation if you are still getting KR? You are spraying a wet shot, so it's not getting Burst KR due to spraying a dry shot through the maf. So you must be getting some kind of knock for your car to be pulling timing.

i hooked it back up(the right way, lol.)and it works fine.good thing i did'nt fry it. but i think it wasnt running optimum(rich fuel)because my speed shop guy told me to richen fuel jet, to compensate for detonation.i thought it seemed a little rich.i only took 2* of rtd,and i was wondering what the heck was going on.but its all good. hey jamnut what kind of temps do you have where you live?and how much rtd do you use?btw....no base and no wot advance, right now im at 0,0,2rtd.thanks dog.
