Running lines through interior.... any issues with this?

Default Running lines through interior.... any issues with this?

Hey guys,

About to attempt my first nitrous install and going for a stealth setup. At first, I had planned to run the nitrous line through a false fuel line under the car to make it look "factory" but I figure it will be easier to just run the line under the carpet of the interior.

Just want to make sure there are no issues with running the nitrous lines through the interior (under the carpet).

some say no but i have known MANY MANY people who did it this way..myslef included.. i just ran it down alongside the rocker panel like you would some stereo power wire..make sure you dont pinch it or run a screw through it when you go to screw the panels down.. i came up through the hole that is directly behind the pcm..you will have to remove the pcm to get at the hole..i cannot remember if i had to use a bigger gromment or not..if anything put plenty of electrical tape around the hose or whatever you have to do to keep it off of the bare metal when it passes through the firewall...

I ran mine the same way. I would put some convoluted tubing around the the main feed line when you get to the fire wall to keep it from rubbing holes in any of the wires you'll pass by. When braided line vibrates it'll chew stuff up pretty good. Same goes for the engine bay, make sure it's not touching any paint, or unprotected wires.

run it through the interior as suggested. No issues at all.

I ran mine under my center console, but I have a truck, not sure about a car. You should be fine running it in the interior.

It's good your thinking about safety. You'll be fine with it run inside your car.

I'll make sure to protect the line aganist any wires or other sensitive items under the carpet.

Kinda off the subject a bit but, I am doing my nitrous install tomorrow and wanted to know where the hole for the PCM is. How do I take the PCM out to run the nitrous line, and do I need to take the dash off/apart to do it?

Under the hood, on the passanger side near the firewall you can find the computer, there are a couple of 10mm bolts that hole the bracket to the fender, take to bolts out and wiggle the computer and bracket out, it takes a little prying but it will come out. one you get it out you will see the grommet that everyone is speaking of. No need to take the dash off

running it thru the interior=no good.take your time and route it next to the factory fuel lines theres a spot for it on the plactic piece holding the fuel lines.try and keep as much of the line outside of the car,you dont want that **** blowing in the car. and it will blow!!!all it is,is plastic rapped in wire.its happened to me in the staging lanes at the track[real embrassing]there went 45$ in the air and all thru my car.the line was brand new and only had 1000psi in the bottle.imagine that happening around 100 mph,its just like a smoke cloud.any way its your call theres gonna be some of the line in the car but the less the better chance if it happen it'll ,happen outside of the car if it ever does.this is just one horror story theres probally more.

Isn't it required to be run outside the cars per NHRA rules? I've never read this but heard it from a few people.

I hope not because mine is inside but I dont plan to show them.....They are going to kick me out after my 1st nitrous run anyway because I dont have a 3 point cage.

i dont know about the nhra/ihra rules when consering nos setups. my concern is personal safety thats all.

I think that's the reason why they want you to run it outside the car.

From what I've been told both NHRA and IHRA want you to run all the lines outside the car. I don't think they would ever catch it unless you have to go for chassis certs.

well thier you have it. my point exactly. what about those of us that dont run any carpet to hide it ? a blind man can see that[nos line] . o well not my problem.

Well if your not running carpet then I asume your fast enough to need chassis certs to race anyway.
