That's bull ****, not enough HP to get into the 8s, best that car will do with that HP is mid to high 9s I don't care what it 60s, what it weighs or who's driving it.

Sean, how many 5.7 passes has your car made?

That being said , it's not easy. Give me a small block chevy with the right stuff and I could rape the LS1 thats in my car now and be much more reliable. We do it with an LS1 because thats what we enjoy playing with , not because it's cheap or easy.

sorry stumbled onto this thread and had to say:
You guys, dont know what hard is ..

my .02
I think its a matter of reliability...will it do it yes!! will it do it more than once ..now thats the hard part...All the tuning in the world cant solve a relevant sealing issue with the ls1 block...you can do things to prolong it,,,but I think the "hard" part would be keeping it reliable... Theres been a few things done ONCE some backed up.... some NOT if you get my drift...
9's, 8's isnt all about power between the fenders..and if anyone does the work themselves its not that easy.If somebody or a group of people take on the work for you ,,,then you can say its easy, but that just means you did no work..anyway thats my take on it, I do things the hard way ..what do I know..

i agree with this, however, even if you paid someone to do the work, unless your like me, (rolling in the $$$) then the work it takes to save the $$ to pay someone isnt "easy"
what do you know about ls1 anyway LT1 boy. J/K

WTF are you talkin about Old Man...the way my car sits right now is making around 570 and it has gone a mid 9 with no 60'.

Sean's car is making over 100 more to the wheels and is 60' around .2 better....and yes it will go at least an 8.9X. I can't help it that it took you over 700 to the wheels to make your race car go a 5.90 in the 1/8th and a low 9 in the 1/4.

We have made quite a few , and would have made more had we not been trying to run the 11.5 ET streets to get ready for the TTT5 class.

QUOTE:"Thats alot...Way too much.
The stock PCM if tuned correctly can put a 346 car in the 8's.
We may findout before the end of this year if a DFW car can do it.
If you can run 9.40's with stock heads on a 200,driving it to the track getting in the 8's isnt going to be very hard."

Like Overton said,U can build a bomb but what I suggested was a real car that can make pass after pass with only a few problems...Race cars break no matter what design they are EG. GenII,GenIII,Ford,Mopar etc....The point is if u have $$$$$$$ and are willing to spend it then a car capable of running high 8's on 346CI with N20 would be easy to build.

Do the work yourself and I agree it becomes much harder but again with the time and funds it wouldnt be too hard.

I realy wish you would give it a shot. keep it within the weight restrictions of Tech, and keep it 346 or bigger even, when you find out how to keep the heads down after about 800, let me know please.

JS I disagree....In LS1tech X/M form (weight) it will not be easy to run 8.9XXX w/ a 346...If weight didn't matter I agree w/ some BIG bucks it can happen. To do it in a Tech race (following the rules) I think it is close to impossible for a 346 C.I. N2O car.

Bullshit like that day at Ennis when Josh's car was .018 slower then you.. he was still stock internal...you had heads and cam.Drove it there and back.
Ever wonder why you and him never ended up in the same issue?Same goes for Lydia's car.

3 days before, you and him ran at Denton and CJ won by .043.You were on the trailor his was still a legit street driven car on pump gas.

Oh the laughs we have had.
