Who's hooking a 150 shot on radials?
Just like the title says, who's spraying a 150+ shot out of the hole on drag radials. I'm getting close to giving up and going to slicks, it's just a smoke show.
I'm running monster 325/50-15 MT D/R's, 4k stall, & 3.73's in a 12 bolt w/ a spool. Cam only car. Last time at the track I had BMR LCA's, PHR, SFC's, & Jegster T/A for suspension. It was ugly. I could hook ok on motor, cut 1.70 60 ft (Not horrible for a 3700 lb car, but not great), but it was a joke on the bottle. Now I've got shocks, & a drag sway bar but it doesn't feel like it hooks much better (on the street). It feels more stable, and launches straighter, but not the impovement I was looking for.
I've got LCA relocation brackets I need to get welded up, but I'm not expecting much. I hope I'm wrong about that.
What have you guys done to hook on the bottle w/ radials?
Is a four corner scale job worth the $$$ ?

The relocation brackets will make a larger difference than you would expect, at least they did for me. I was running one hole down from stock and the best 60' was 1.61, after droping to the bottom hole with no other changes the car went 1.48. This was a full weight car on 26-11.50x17's. The car felt no different on the street though.

I spray my 250 shot out of the hole on the same tires and have a best of 1.36 60'. Something is wrong in your setup. What pressure are you running in the DRs? What shocks and where do you have them set? What springs? I would lose the torque arm and get a better one. Relocation brackets will help. Its not the tires, thats for sure.

I know it's not the tires, I don't know what it is though. I don't think it's the T/A either, I know people have been 1.3x w/ the same one.
I have strange D/A shocks up front set to 7 comp, 2 ext, and comp. eng shocks out back set to 50/50. Stock springs in back. But I haven't ran w/ the shocks at the track.
I think I'm goint to cut a coil out of the rear springs, the back end sits a lot higher than the front (28" tire in back, 26" up front), I think it's stopping the weight from transfering to the back tires.
I ran the tires @ 15 psi hot last time I was at the track.

Instead of cutting the coils, you may wanna just take out the rubber spacers at the top and put some heater hose on the first coil for noise. It will lower it a little without effecting the spring rate. Did you get the relocation brackets on yet? Run the middle hole first and see how it does. You may also try tightening up the extension on the front shocks a little - I know it sounds backwards, but it actually puts more pressure on the back tires with the front shocks tighter and helps the hook.
BTW - I got a new best 60' on mine yesterday - 1.30 on the back tires

Not that it's exactly what your'e asking but my SOM SS would dead hook going into 2nd gear (a4) on 150 on a 275/40/17 STREET radial. I had the front sway bar disconnected, right rear strut removed, and springs cut 1.25-1.5 coil in rear. Car would dead hook coming off the stock converter on the motor as well. I was hole-shotting drag radial lightnings all day long - they HATED that.
