Any decent glocks or other pistols I can get for around $250? I don't know guns and I won't be doing any sport shooting, I just want something for home protection, thats all. Just want to make sure its a solid reliable peice. Can't have the thing fail if it ever comes to a point that I need it if someone breaks in.

Your wife better have man hands or re-think the baby eagle cause they are fat(in size) when I bought mine they didn't even have a holster to fit it. I would go with an H&K sub compact for the wife if she wanted an auto. I have .40 in both and they are both awesome but H&K much easier tho carry.

Besides you can saw it off and put a pistol grip on it and it's still no where near as small as compact as a pistol. One further consideration is if someone breaks in your home and you have to shoot them with the sawed off, chances are your also likely shooting and destroying other stuff in your house b/c its a 100 little pellets spreading out, instead of one precise bullet. I got a $15k Home theater as one example that I don't want shot up, lol.

No, she's small frame 5'0", but that (and the Sig226) were the hand guns that she felt comfortable with.
What was funny, was once we went shooting up in the desert with some friends (A sheriff and a marine). They laughed when she pulled out my 44 Magnum Desert Eagle. But they quickly stopped when she was shooting more accurate than them shooting their 9mm
