Yes she did Mike. I have gotten a few from him too. I know him pretty well out there. I know he got a couple of you doing your burnout.

I've been playing with some video capture/editing software these last couple days. Like I mentioned before, I could always view the video in frame-by-frame mode in Windows Media Viewer, but I never had the software to actually slow it down and save it that way. Now I do haha....

A couple weeks ago I fabricated my own custom drag bar (anti-sway bar) for the rear. The bar was supposed to help keep the car level on the launch. Before, the car would rock over to the passenger side which would unload the driver side tire. Well, I have before and after footage showing the difference the new anti-sway bar made, check it out.

This is the way the car launched before the anti-sway bar. Pay close attention to the passenger side of the rear bumper. You might have to view it a couple times to notice the difference from the next vid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yqJAuRxs1o

Here is the way the car launches now. I had too much preload on the bar, which caused the passenger side front end to come up quicker than the driver side.

After viewing these videos, I now wish I had another couple weeks of racing left this season. Now I'm going to be thinking about what 'could have been' or 'what I could have done' all winter long lol.... Oh well, I guess it gives me something to look forward to next year.

PIR is open this weekend, but it's the last one for the year. I'm gonna go if the weather looks like it'll cooperate. Right now, Saturday is looking to be the better of the two days. Is the Mustang setup and legal for 9's? That'd be awesome if you could run that number man....

I made some new lower control arm brackets to get a better angle on the LCA. From what all the 10 second 6sp guys are running, I didn't have enough angle on that ****. Should make a good traction improvement, but then again I've been saying that all summer lol.... If I can't lift the tires and get a better 60' with these new settings, I have nothing else to try except bigger wheels/tires.

Phil, have you played Forza 3? Is it as good as it looks on the tv ads?

I think PIR is only open tonight, not tomorrow. I think they run the chump car 24hr race on halloween. My camaro is hanging out at the exhaust shop as I type, sitting here like a nervous wuss while other people touch my car

The stang isn't setup for 9's, but that doesn't mean we can't do it at least once It's going to need taller tires before it'll realistically do it though.

edit: yup, no races tomorrow, last chance tonight.

Well guys, I think the black car lunched the engine tonight at PIR.

Not sure about the extent of the damage yet, but she poured oil about 500-600 ft past the finish line (happened in 4th gear, just after crossing fl @ 118ish mph). I did a quick preview of the block, and it does not appear to have any gaping holes. The entire bottom and back end of the car got a nice oil bath though. Should have known I was racing on borrowed time with those stock connecting rods. I'll have an update as soon as I figure out what happened. Here's a vid of the smoke show lol....

Thanks to Cody for the enclosed trailer ride home.

Nice reaction, was that the GF?

That totally blows Mikey, I'll help you anyway I can. I've got a stock ls1 cylinder case sitting here as well from Brandon that I'd let you have on the cheap if you need it as well. Let me now what you need and I'll see what I can do for you.

Thanks guys. At least it happened on the last night of the racing season lol...

Chris, yeah that was the gf's reaction lol... She was pretty upset because she had never seen an engine blow before, so she saw all the smoke and thought I hit the wall.

As for the damage, I won't know until I pull the engine sometime this next week. I just hope the block is salvagable, as that has the most money invested with those Darton sleeves.

Mike
