After going to Woodburn this past summer I can see why everyone there say's PIR is garbage. The track there blows PIR away by a landslide.
oh yeah! its on par with tracks like Indy and Oklahoma

Yeah I think I'm going to make the trip and run there next year. I was impressed with the set up there.

I was at PIR tonight again, camaro stayed home so I could help with our mustang. Saw the teal lsjaun with the hockey stripe and I thought I saw the black monster, but I didn't see it go 10's, left at 9:30.

Our mustang was running good, the new stroker doesn't like to rev, so now we need some taller tires (we're down 4mph from the old 351c). I've got some video I'll upload tomorrow night. Best we went was 10.3 at 123, bad track prep and not enough gear. Spun pretty bad off the line every run, best 60' was 1.48, it'll do better next season.

I kept seeing that blue Mustang and thought it looked familiar lol... No 10 sec slip for me this year. Just don't have enough tire to hold those clutch dumps. My best 60' last night was 1.70. I need to step up to at least a 27/11.50 full drag slick and change the gearing for it. Debating on stepping up to a 28/10.50. Some fully adjustable rear shocks would help alot too.

I did manage to run a new PB trap speed of 119mph on 7 cylinders lol.... One of the fuel injectors is missing a metal clip that snaps it in place, and on the launch, the injector connector came completely off the injector. Still ran an 11.47 though.

Tell us a little more about the Mustang,,,,,, stroke, mods, tire size etc...

lol, I can talk about the pony all day, never thought to see any interest in it on a site like this though.

She's a 1985 Fox body, we bought it with a 351 cleveland, c4 (trans brake, 5000 stall, manual valve body, air powered cheetah shifter), it still has the 4-lug rear, 35 spline axles, spool, stock-style suspension. It had a set of ported boss 302 heads on it, but we bought some aussie AFD aluminum heads and a parker funnel web manifold, 1000 cfm holley. Then we changed the cam, springs, and rockers. I drove it with that combo 10.49, dad drove it the next weekend and the motor came apart (floated the valves, lost a piston, fired a rod through the oil pan).

We had bought a block earlier that was hard-filled, bored 30 over, and had a lot of other machine work done on it. We filled it with an eagle forged rotating assembly, internally balanced, i-beams, flat-tops, it's a stroker kit to take it from a 351 to a now 408 cleveland small block. Still has the aussie heads and manifold (thank goodness the heads weren't ruined when we lost a piston). We did manage to bend every intake valve in them when the old 351 died, so now it has manley back-cut valves to save some weight and get even more flow. Compression is about 13.1:1.

Tires are a set of really old 26" hoosier wrinkle walls, hard and out of rubber. Gears are 4.10's. Shifting a little under 7k with the new stroker. It needs some 28 or 29 inch tires to get it down the track, hopefully a 10.5 will fit so we can come out harder.

Long blabbering aside, we're hoping to get 9's on the motor, and we built it for a heavy nitrous system.

Old engine runs

We don't know yet, gotta see what it does when it can get down the whole 1/4 first, lol. We have talked about a 200 shot, but it's up in the air right now, might be less. What I do know is that it's never fast enough, and the engine can take 300 or so in spray. We'll see. Uploading videos now.

Sorry about the multi-post, they wouldn't all show up in one post for some stupid reason. Ah well.

Hey Musicman, very cool Mustang!! That thing boogies down the track really well. I could only hope to get hooked up that good out of the hole lol... Nice to see some air under your tires too. Sounds like once you get the bugs worked out of her, she'll be running really strong on the motor. What do you think that car weighs?

If you pause that second video of mine in just the right spot, you can see about an inch or two of air under the passenger side tire. Can you email those two vids to me? It would be nice to view them with media player in slow motion. Also, what do you use for video editing?

we've never weighed the stang before, my guess though is about 2500 though. I'll try to e-mail those, pm me your e-mail address. And those are right off the camera, I don't have any software any more. Used to have some really fancy stuff, had final cut when I had the mac, and Pinnacle Studios when I borrowed the disk. Nero has good stuff too.

Yeah I figured it was a pretty light car with the missing dash, interior and all. I have no idea what mine weighs either, but I'd like to lose some more weight from the car this winter.

I think I remember hearing about Nero, but I thought it was for something else, music download conversion maybe?

Nero does media everything, the software I had could make cd's, dvd's, slideshows, convert video types, all kinds of stuff. Depend on the pack you get.

SHOW OFF!! LOL....

Really good pics man! Once I get some good launches out of the black car, I'll have to get ahold of that guy. I think Brenda got his card this last time out there.
