Hey Mike is the heads up NW 10.5 and slower or do you have to try being as close to 10.5 as possible and the tree makes up the difference(bracket style)? I don't feel I will be running 10.5 by next season. I don't have any kind of tuner to program my tranny for the new gears, and can't really afford to have Tommy do it. I have to get some vids posted of in the car runs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEmwmkx5iR8 They would look something like this but quicker haha. I have pretty bad wheel hop. Think I need to adjust the LCA in two turns, backed them out two installing rear. Well merry christmas and happy holidays. Oh and I dont meen to be a debbie downer but My uncle just passed tuesday from meningococcle. Scary stuff and they say it's very contagious So be careful and dont take to much pride in being the guy who doesn't go to the hospital for the flu.

As far as the heads up racing goes Brandon there is no brackets. ( or that is what I am guessing by what was said and the 10.5 would be the quickest you can run)

SO you need to be running below 11.0 would be my guess if you want to compete and win.

Very sorry to hear about your uncle as well

Merry Christmas to all!

Yeah, to be competitive in that class you'd want to run as close to the 10.50 as possible without running quicker. From what I gather, there are guys running high tens in that class though. I'm not going to be very competitive in the class but I want to run heads-up and get used to a pro-tree. I find ET bracket racing rather boring and would rather lose a race in heads-up than win in a bracket race. But that's just me.....

I could fix your speedo for 100.00, which is the cost of one pcm license for my EFILive tuning software.

Sorry to hear about your uncle man,,,, that really sucks. One of my uncles passed away several years ago and I really miss him. He was one of the smartest guys I've ever known.

We were thinking about running our mustang in heads up, but it's running 10.3 letting off at the 1/8, she's a little too fast, lol. We do have a throttle stop though, is that allowed? I can change the computer to shift on time rather than rpm, I can make that thing run 10.500 if I wanted. Hate throttle stops though, gets rid of the driver. Hence why it's in a box on the shelf.

I might actually take you up on your offer. Eric (SOMZ28) offered to let me do the same on his tuner. I dont think my car has been making as much power since the injectors even though tommy tuned it afterwards we never dynoed it and I ran 3 mph slower at the track. I also dynoed 15-20 Horse lower on two dynojets after the injectors.
I am very sorry about my uncle also. He too was a very smart man.He graduated on the honor roll at OSU. He worked as an engineer for Allied for a while and then started doing some kind of forensic engineering I think it was professional engineering. He was a fellow car fanatic with his 64 Grand Prix and his S2000 that he road raced.

musicman - throttle stops are not allowed in this class. They also have other heads up classes. 10.5 is the slowest and only index class, the others are true heads up, but I believe the street radial class is running low to mid 9's.

Here's a link to their website. Click on the left side for more accurate descriptions of each class. If you're running 10.30's while lifting at half track, you might be more competitive in one of the other classes. The 10.50 class is more of an entry level to heads-up racing.

Default Awesome

Hey an Oregon thread!

Im down here in Canby tryin to put together my 95 Z28 Camaro.

It use to be my sisters car but she blew the head gaskets on the LT1 twice in a year so me and my dad dropped it out and are putting in a 2000 firebird LS1.

So far the T56 is already swapped over and fits the LS1. The Lt1 is already out and on the floor, and all we gotta do is bolt the ls1 front clip back on. Im plannin on puttin some headers, and cam at least, before i put it back in. Buttt doin this without a job is kinda difficult lol. Ohh yaa i gotta rewire the harness and fuel pump to just get it running stock.

If any Oregon guys know how to swap over harnesses under $500 hit me up! Cause thats what speartech is gonna charge me..

Cool,,, another LS1 swapper. Welcome to the board.

I had Speartech do my harness. The plug-n-play harness is hard to beat. If you can wire it yourself then you have more ***** than I. Me and electrical wiring don't get along too well....
