That place sounds kind of fun. Never been there but it's right over where I work.

I got some pics, just need to get them off the camera. Waiting on some painted parts from Tim and then I might post up some pics.

The motor should be done by the time I get back from vegas which will be on the 2nd. I'm really debating on just saving for some AFR's heads before I put it in. Probably the smartest idea I have had..lol
Also I'm selling my LS7 lifters as well so if you know anyone that wants them let me know.

Tfs would be a better buy in my opinion but I would step away from the 5.3's. When are you going to Vegas? I'll be there like June 21st to the 24th.

if you end up using the 5.3's atleast bring them down on a weekend and let me clean them all up, and do a fresh valve grind, cut the seats, guides, seals, mill them, and set them up with your new springs and what not. then atleast they will be 100% fresh. i don't want to get involved porting them and what not, but i can freshen them up and get everything on point for you and cleaned, and ready to bolt on. it would take me like one saturday to do them.

Yeah but if he doesn't want to spend the $$$$ on ported heads and wants to stick the 5.3's on it for now, I'll volunteer some time at the machine shop to make sure they are fresh and ready to rock.

Whoa!! First of all, salvage when did you do all of the stuff to your car and when did you dyno it?..lol...
I don't know if I really want to put these 5.3's on just to be a tease if you know what I mean. I'm just worried if I do what you said Charlie with as big of a shot I might hurt something.

Going to Vegas on the 25th of this month. And I know TFS has some good heads but I've always told myself to go with AFR. I know TFS has a 18deg or something like that, that is awesome but I just don't know much about them.

I wish I'd gone with afr or trickflow. I think I left a lot of power on the table with those ls6 heads. My setup seems kinda week for the size of cam I have. Plus my trap speed is pretty weak too

A good set of high flowing heads can be more important that the selection of the camshaft, it really makes a huge difference. LS3 engines with our blower cam and 8 psi of boost make a lot more power than the same combination with LS6 heads. It's never too late, you can always change up your combination. Bob

i agree with you all the way. however at the time i couldnt really afford the heads i really wanted. next time ill go with better heads as well as a 408 to put them on. i guess i thought i would net better performance out of the setup i went with. im not too unhappy with it, the car is fast as hell with what it has but its whatever i guess
