I could probably answer any questions you might have. I researched all the 9" housing and center sections for about 4 months before purchasing my setup. I was on a super tight budget with mine, and I got into mine for under 1700 (total) buying a few parts used and setting up the gears myself. But if money is not a concern, the Mid West Chassis 9" housing is a really nice piece, expensive, but very well built and ligthweight too.

For the carrier, I would stay away from a True Trac diff. Many guys are having problems getting them to hold up to a 6sp with a good launch.

Ok soooooo, my first attempt at painting was not so great, not so bad as I know all that I did wrong or what went wrong but the one thing I can't correct ... is the amount of flake

It was supposed to be black with a hint of flake when the sun catches it but thats not what I got...hahahaha

Problems I had while painting.... got hotter than I was expecting and reduced the paint for so I was having an issue getting paint out of the gun... which kept me from running it..LOL... but left it not as nice as it should have been and was a PIA to try and cover the white sealer....another lesson learned there... use a dark sealer for dark paint...hahahaha

Lights... you need to have lights and reallty should not be spraying in the dark with one 100 watt spot light shinning through the plastic.... This aided in the over flake..

trying to paint it all in one day to avoid scuffing or wet sanding wont work on the outside of the car....
need a full face respirator as well... the eyes were burniing like hell and vision was an issue as time went on

for the heavy duty 3rd member N case and 5/8's studs I think I spent like 2350 all together for everything. I also wanted 35 spline axles and the detroit locker so I spent a little extra

Send me a PM with what your ultimate plans are for your car and I could probably line out a good economical parts list for ya. I bought the detroit locker and the gears used, so that saved me quite a bit of coin.

Did you order your axles gun drilled by chance? That's a REALLY big axle (added rotational weight) for your power level. You must plan to run 8's someday.

I figure I will only have to buy one rear end but no I didnt get gun drilled axles. I just like the feeling of being able to launch a full weight car.

Hey that's cool. I was going to go with 35's myself but was talked out of it because of the additional rotating weight and the goals for the car. All the little things add up lol.....

Are you planning to get the rearend in the car in time to make it out to the track again this year? I haven't decided if I'm going this Friday or not. ?
