Default Can I get this set up to Pass the WA sniff test

So I am in the proccess if throwing a stockish lq4 botton end with a set of ls3 heads and intake into a 93 YJ jeep with a 4l70E trans with a 2700 stall. I am looking at a cam from Texas Speed
Texas Speed Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598"

The motor will be a gen III using a 24x reluctor wheel, I dont have the ecm yet but my question is can I get that cam to pass the sniff test in Washington with a good tune. I dont mind having to get a bit creative to get it to pass. THis will be mainly for sand and any unexpecting 5.0's in the area

Thanks for the input

Should be able to. There is a guy on here who has heads and a MS3 cam and passed NP.

You can get damn near anything to pass an ob2 test. That cam will not pass an actual emissions sniffer test though. Not really well matched for a 2700 rpm stall either. I think a 224 cam on a 114 is about as big as you can go to pass exhaust emissions.

There is no way a 230 something cam will pass a IM240 sniffer test in WA or OR. If its an OBD2 car its a cake walk, I can even write the VIN into a GM PCM, I did just that today in a 97 wrangler with a LQ9 6.0L with a small cam. But that is a OBD2 scan tool test and that is it. If you install a set of CATs and a much smaller cam it will be pretty easy to pass. Besides if you are doing this in a Jeep why so big of a camshaft? Its going to get lousy performance at crawling speeds. Most Jeep dudes go with a pretty small cam, something like an old LPE GT2-3 cam is a very good choice for low speed drivability and low end torque.

well this jeep will never crawl i am building it for street queen use and for blasting up the dunes i wanted some power to be able to spin the 15" paddle tires that it will be running while in sand.

I would give Geoff a call at EPS. He will get you hooked up with exactly what you need. You don't need a big cam to make power, I made 444 rwhp / 414 tq with a 224 cam and unported 243 heads.

Will do and I appreciate all the input, I am new to the ls world but not to the SBC, I have a gen 1 forged 383 with afr heads, Gen 7 and a F1a Procharger that I got to pass with 80lb injectors running a 220/228 @50 cam
