Default My ported LS2 intake bears fruit...

My test subject and I ran into many dealys but at long last we have results on my ported LS2 (90mm intake). The test guy CYA-Vett also did a cam swap just before the test. Here's the quote from Corvette forum...

"Cam only..418.29RWHP 385.26 Torque

I swapped on a ported intake in about 14 minutes, and came up with 425.83RWHP and 392.63 Torque

That is 43 RWHP from the cam and an additional 7.5 RWHP and 7.5 Torque from the porting.
Those are Peak Numbers on the Porting, don't be fooled, it picked up 3-13 HP/Torque with an average of about 10 throughout the entire curve That's good money spent, worth at least a tenth or two on the track."

And the link: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1419097

He has a 2006 Vette and the only mods are a Vararam CAI, Kooks headers, Torquer 2 cam, and an LS2 intake ported by me.

I'm pretty happy with the results. Anyone want to see what I can get out of their LS2 intake?

SWEET Cory. But 50rwhp should be worth more than a tenth or 2....more like 3-4.

The intake gave 7.5 rwhp and raised the hp and tq curves everywhere. The cool thing is that he hasn't even put a ported TB on it yet. The intake work alone should be nearly a 10th. Its pretty cool that it gave 7.5 in a heat soaked condition, too. With hours between rounds at the strip I'm sure a 10th is achievable and not unrealistic.

I can't wait to test my ported LS6 prototype.

IMHO, more important then the 7.5 peak is this:

"Those are Peak Numbers on the Porting, don't be fooled, it picked up 3-13 HP/Torque with an average of about 10 throughout the entire curve"

I was telling the tester that very thing the night before his dyno. I don't mind if it only gave 5 peak... as long as that curve was bigger everywhere and it pretty did what I expected. We always want more... but considering this is about the same gain as an underdrive crank pulley swap I feel pretty good.
