Default plz tell me my optiu is alright...

so my car seems like it is gettting harder to start. ever since i put in my new o2 sensor it take about 2-4 secs to start insted of 1-2 secs. aside from that it seems to run fine. i am going to be running seafoam through it today, so that might help. also i am gonna order a retune on my pcm, so could that maybe help too. i just hope its not the opti going out on me.

When my opti went thats what it was doing. But it didn't do it everytime, some times it would start right up and others it would take a little longer. Take it to Ellis and he'll fix you right up ......

oh yeah and one more think, it only does it when my car has been sitting over night. when i leave work and its been sitting for 4-5 hours it doesn't do it, like when its just the least bit warm it doesn't do it. and when i got to start it up in the mourning, if i turn the key for a second then again right away it starts. i can usually turn it on and it will kinda studder the turn on.

Sounds like a fuel pump going out, do you have a pressure guage?

Have you replaced the fuel filter? If you haven't pop it off and check to see if there is a bunch of crap in it. Won't stop the pump from failing but will give you some idea if that is part of the problem since it did sit for awhile.

also i was pricing fuel pumps online and found this one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/255-L...77054771QQrdZ1

does anyone know if this is a good one. i am not looking for something overboard, but i figure while i am in there, i might as well step up. also if i got a higher flow pump, would i feel a power difference.

You won't feel any power gains unless your pump is REALLY weak now. I would go with the Racetronix pump is I was you. They are such a pain to put in I wouldn't want to take a chance with an off-brand one.

hey just wondering, is there anything i can gain from puting in a racetronix plug and play fuel pump kit (the one with the new harness). i was figuring that if i am gonna be putting it in, then i might as well do it all.

well, i know i might be annoying some of you guys with all this, but sometimes i can make things out to be worse then they are. i just went and started up my car a few times, and i doesn't take 3-4 secs to start, it take about 1/2 -1 secs. but just to be safe i am gonna see if the shop at my work has a fuel pressure gauge. if they do, what should the pressure be at?

Does it hold pressure? If it bleeds down it could still be your starting problem. Especially since you said it's worse after it sits for a while.
