Under 8k with all fees and bullshit they add on to final price.
This is not a clean title. It will have to be run through WSP inspection as an out of state car and rebuild title. I don't care though. Didn't buy it to flip. Bought it as a comfy workcar. Getting tired of beaters for workcars.
After ecu upgrade it will put out around 310 to the wheels, AWD and 6 speed should be fun. There's a shitload of other features that make these alot of fun to drive. And get 22mpg with mixed driving.

Well since you mention it I was thinking about selling my current dd, 95 850 turbo, charcoal grey ext, dark interior. Lots of miles but still runs and drives perfect. And it's kinda quick too! Oh yeah trip computer say averaging 23mpg and I haven't reset it for about 4 tanks of fuel so i'm sure that's a true mixed mpg reading.

Holy long link! I am trying to decide between this or a 525i as a daily driver.
Any input from Da Vulva Man?

They just lowered the price of that one from 23k to 20k. I'd try to haggle them more but I don't know if they'll budge much.
Upon inspection of that car the right rear door, on the forward most spot has some clearcoat flaking off. Be sure to check out the body very VERY carefully. I didn't look too hard at the body because I knew I would not be buying it anyways....pumpkin interior.
Either way if you have any ?'s about the R's feel free to hit me up. I'm by no means an expert but have learned alot about them over the last 2 weeks.
I can tell you that the weakness on the R's is the pinion angle bearing. I believe this is just the pinion bearing on the rear diff but do not quote me on that. It can cost about 2 grand to fix if you take it to the dealer. I'm sure quite a bit less if you do it yourself. Extended warranty on the one I bought was offered for about 2200 bucks but I turned it down.
I am considering buying one seperatly though.
Volvo parts are kinda pricy, labor is up there too but nothing like a BMW.
Honestly the engine is very easy to work on compared to the bimmers.
Reliability is very high for the R's. Some people have had the 04's clutches last just fine and others burn them up by 20k miles. I have a feeling that high rpm, clutch dumps with the awd just destroys them as well as the pinion bearing.
Drive it like it was meant to be and i'm sure it will be very reliable.
I think clutch dumps is what breaks things.
Get moving then start hammering the gears and I bet they last forever.
Good luck either way.

Oh yeah...a few more thing I just thought of....
The R's front bumper will bottom out on curbs easy. Be very VERY careful pulling up in parking spots. If it's got the sport trim then they're twice as easy to rip off on curbs.
The turning radius is horrendus on these things. You do get used to it but I can assure you there will be no u-turns on streets without backing up. It's got something to do with factory 18's and the AWD. It is much easier to back into parking spots and a ton easier to pull out if you've backed in.
Rear seat legroom is good for kids but adults may find it kinda cramped.

Hmmmm thanks for the info. I actually don't think I like that interior either but I might still go check it out. Those cars are friggin cool though. I am calling my insurance company to compare the 5-series to the R and see how that looks. Thanks again for the info.
