Default Mail slot on the z28 hood

Thinking about slicing a slot on the front of my z28 hood
and have it resprayed to make a slot about [10] inches left to right about 3 inches up from hood opening and a slot to fit aletter thru, i think i could do with out much work just a perfect cut and straight. Hmmmmmm

So are you tryin to make a replica of the ultra z hood by hackin' up your z's hood?

This sounds interesting. I've always thought maybe doing something like that would be really neat. If you do then good luck. I'll be watching for it

yes i been playing with tape trying to find the right length of the slot and positon is going to make it or break it in looks department , so it will take a while but it will look nic. ya kinda like the ultra z hood. i just got fenders and new hood and paint job, deer got in my way 3rd car now there all been painted . and it would have aslight v shape so it runs parrellel to hood. any pics or ideas would be great. thanks guys

somthing like the 5th gen, maby the slot alittle thinner maby 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

I agree it shouldn't be too thick bc your working with a flat hood. It's gonna have to be perfect to look right. To short or too long will make it look funky. But I really want to see this done if I think of anything I'll report back. Wish I had my stock hood at my place I'd be making some marks and doing different measurements. That's what you should be doing. What I wonder us when you make the cuts the are going to be straight sharp cuts with no rolling in them.
