Default Want to fill in grill tabs, what product to use?

Ive only done minor body repair here and there, think i could probably figure out mostly any thing with a few tires.

but what im trying to do is fill in the tabs that are left when the factory grill is removed. I might fill in the CAMARO lettering too.

what is the product(s) i need to buy to do this?

any technique or tips are appreciated too.

thanks!

here is a pic of what im talking about.

Find a paint store and show them what you are doing and they will tell you what they sell that will do the job. A lot of companys sell the product you need 3m fpr(flexible parts repair), Evercoat, SEM, Valvoline, etc... Different stores sell different lines so it would be easier to find the store closest to your house and find out which one they sell. Follow the directions and use an adheision promoter if one is available for the mfg. you use.
btw, the stuff sands like a tire.

i always use Nortans : Speed Grip. it comes in a few different dry times so you can work with it , 1 minute 5 minute 15 etc.

you have to do a grind test on the backside of your bumper to see if it smears or melts, one needs plastic adhesion promoter, cant remember right now, its not coming to me

Yeah, fiberglass is a lot of unnecessary work. I would recommend the 3M Automix line. Check their website and you can find the exact one you need.

Just use thin strand fiberglass filler. I just trust fiberglass more. Just my opinion. If you don't do body work on a daily basis, fiberglas can be a little tricky.

do not use fiberglass. use 3M's flexible repair kit, its kinda pricey($80) but the stuff works awesome. this stuff works with both types of plactics Thermosets and thermoplastics. thermosets when sanded produce a dust and thermoplastics melt when sanded. if u have a thermoplastic u will need a spray on adhesian promoter. and make sure u follow the directions EXACTLY as directed. and the adhesian promoter u choose HAS to be the same brand as the product u use(the people who make the repair products only design them to work with there own products) good luck to you.
