Default Repairing Dash Pad

My dash pad has a long crack in it.
What do I need to fix it? Super glue or some type of plastic glue or what?
Thanks

if you mean the top part of the dash that most fbodies have cracks in them. you could get a new one from afterthoughts.com or cover the stock one with some vinyl. my friend covered his and it looks good. but if you dont use the correct adhesive it can start peeling where the defrost vent is.

will crack again.
I'm thinging about putting painters tape on the top side of the crack and then glueing the bottom side.
Just need to know what glue to use.
Thanks

Just FYI before you touch it. It will crack again if you try to take it out to fix it. Almost no way around it. Best bet is to try to glue it from the top or something along those lines.

if you could use a factory piece to make a mold and then make a fiberglass piece would be the strongest solution IMO. i just bought a used one in good shape but it is ebony and i need charcoal. if i was good at fiberglass i would do this, but im lazy...

Afterthoughts auto and 6LE provide covers to go over existing ones. Not a replacement and not very good unless you already have a nice dash pad you just want to cover up.

Just my opinion...

Before you try and take off the panel for repair I would drill a small hole at the end of the crack. This will help prevent the crack from getting any bigger. You'll just have to patch the little hole. That or have a buddy help you take it off and be extremely careful.

Ive known a couple of people that use adhesive tack putty to fill the crack from the bottom and just slide a finger on the top of the crack where the putty squished out to smooth it out even and then they just repaint the dash pad and it comes out great.

That's what I'm looking for. Who makes the tack putty and where can I get it at.
Thanks

mine was busted into like 10 pieces. i took it out glued it back together, then reinforced the underside with fiberglass, where you could still see the cracks on top i sanded like a "V" into all of them filled that with bodyfiller then sanded the whole thing smooth and painted it.. hopefully the fiberglass will keep it from ever cracking again
