Default Sail panel DONE

Called Last week at Ponitac Customer Service, Got a CASE Number.

Dealer had approved the work. Just Barely my warranty Is done on my body on 6/25. Car dropped off on 6/20 finished on 6/22. I didnt give the dealer and story on how its well known online and BLAH BLAH, I just played stupid and told I found the bulletin online to show what I was talking about.
I paid nothing 0.00

Its not a recall bud, Just a bulletin. Call Pontiac's OR Chevy Customer Service Number, Tell them whats going on. They then will get you in contact with a dealer so you can take your car in. But the dealer told me, That is not really covered under body corrosion warranty. But since it is a manufactured defect is why it was covered for no cost, and of course some District managers approval. not sure what your damage looks like, But i had the early stages of the bubbles, it was still smooth on top but you can see the ribbles along the glue line all the way across. By the way I had a extended warranty on my ride otherwise last year it would of been out of warranty instead of this year. I should gotten a rag top

Good Luck.

I got my panel repaired last month. I did have to pay a $200 deductible, but I did not mind since some dealers are not even covering repairs. Looks great. I am the original owner with 63k on the car. Good luck to the rest of you.

I was denied, as I am the 2nd owner and it's got 62K miles on it, they told me that they cannot do it due to the amount of mileage and that they cannot confirm that this is factory paint, even though I told them that I could have them speak to the original owner and he can vouch for the fact that other than the front nose piece the car has the original factory black paint...

No that doesn't sound right. I think the parts alone (new sail panel) would be like $300. I've heard quotes from $750-$1300. They may be just planning on repainting it, which wont work.

No...the entire panel will have to be removed and replaced. That's what makes this problem so difficult to correct...it isn't a simple procedure by any stretch of the imagination. It is the glue that is bubbling up through the paint...a repaint will cover it for a short period of time, but the bubbles will just come up through that later on down the line.

Slim to none. Your 3 year warranty is long gone and your 6 year corrosion warranty (how they fixed mine) may be gone too.
