btw if someone doesn't mind emailing me a copy of the new one...

Going to try to go into Kimball Motors in San Luis Obispo tomorrow, see if they will take care of this problem. I have the extended warranty on my car, too bad its no good for paint. Hopefully GM will fix this.

So I went by the dealer and the service manager said they can't do anything for me since the car is out of warranty. Called GM after that to open up a case number, said I have to have the dealer diagnose the problem and then they can try to work something out. Where have guys in California brought their Camaros to get this problem taken care of?

Your car has a 6 year Paint Corrosion warranty. Try another dealer.

I have attached the Technical Service Bulletin from Page 1 of this thread. Take it to the dealer. They know this is an issue. My car is getting the roof fixed on Monday Oct 15th. So they will fix it if you get the right service manager at a good dealer. You can have GM call that dealer and reference the TSB.

I will post my receipt of the warranty work when the repairs are complete.

Good Luck.....

Many of us have gone through the same steps that you have but have been given the shaft!(that's the reason I pm'd you) I just recently did that same at a dealership and they said no, then I called cust. service and after 2 weeks they said no and tough ****.

Once you have your vehcile repaired and you can provide a reciept stating that this was repaired at no cost by the dealership for the TSB that will give us more leverage to go back to the cust. service and raise hell!

We appreciate any help and information that you can provide!

Default If you had it done post dealership information for all to see.....

In northern California...

Courtesy Chevrolet
3640 Stevens Creek Blvd
San Jose, CA 95117
Tully Williams, Service Manager
Direct 408 260-6241
twilliams@courtesychevrolet.com

....did mine just last April .....

Everybody who has had the panel fixed, c'mon post up your dealership and service manager info.

Then the guys who are denied could say, hey you fixed these cars, why not mine?
Or they could make a list of all the service managers who have authorized the repair when they complain to GM.

this isn't a bad idea. at least it could give us some leverage when making our arguments.

The 6yr rust/corrosion warranty does not apply to paint from what I've read and been told. But wouldn't glue coming through paint count as corrosion?

I told GM a about the 6yr rust corrosion thing and they said it does not apply in this case because rust has to show through.

To the guy who had his done in San Jose, can you give a receipt number or some type or reference number in a PM so I have some leverage?

You can go through the hoops that everyone else has but it's really a how does GM feel at the time of your call.

I have talked to numerous people that have had their cars repaired but when I called they said no but two weeks later in another state another member got approved???

If we can get a copy of some of the reciepts that others have that have had they're vehicles repaired at no cost recently we may have a fighting chance.

UPDATE: Called GM customer service and they opened a case number for me. Took my car to Kimball motors in San Luis Obispo to have the service manager "diagnose" the problem. They agree that the paint is bubbling on the car and told me to take it to a body shop here in town to have an estimate done for the work since they don't have their own body shop at the dealership.

One I have the estimate I am supposed to bring it by the dealer and send it to GM. Then wait on the word for it to get fixed.

Anyone that has had theirs fixed, I need case numbers and mileage to help my claim. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My car was just dropped off for the replacement roof. Should be done by Thursday or Friday. I will request a warranty receipt so I can post it here. I will also post the dealership info after the job is complete. Don't want to rattle the cage before the job is complete.

Also, Here is the latest TSB from GM on this issue. The one that is posted on this thread is an old one. It's is also a better quality scan for those of you that need it.
