Yes, my estimate was for a hardtop. I'd imagine the repairs for a t-top would be a bit less expensive. In fact I think Marcellos receipt was for a t-top car and it wasn't more than 1000 bucks.

DAMN, I have them now too. Never noticed till 2 days ago. the paint feels flat but there are big bubbles along the sail next to T-tops. They are only noticable if the light hits it just right. My car goes in for paint monday (for ws9 hood and ceta bumper mod). After I get it back I am going to take this info to local GM dealer and see what happens. IF they fix some for free they have to fix all for free. If they do not that is discrimation! If class suit is filed they will lose!

im curious...

Of you people who say you dont have the bubbles, do you live somewhere where it never gets above 90*, or do you never leave your car in the sun multiple days a week (example: driving it to work or school and parking outdoors)

im willing to bet that most if not all people with a 99+ who dont have bubbles fall into one of the above categories.

The lighter colored cars don't seem to develop the problem as often.

I have been saying that all along.

But i can understand if the car is not cared for. It should not be fixed.

i noticed something on both my cars that both have the sail panel bubbling crap ) also ones black and ones nbm) leave your car out after driving at night and when the moisture comes onto your car (the dew) look on your sailpanel exactly where the glue is under the sailpanel the bubbles will show in the dark the dew will not be on the sial panel entirely what i mean is the dew is around the glue strips on the sailpanel showing the spots that are bubbling up im just saying its not like its not that obvious y'know the glue plainly shows up at night being the problem and gm dont wanna replace what they screwed up bascially!

So GM does not seem to like the fact that the Chevy dealer in town does not have a body shop, now they want a "diagnosis" done at a dealer 20 minutes from me which has a body shop. They were a lot more helpful and moved me real far up the chain of command when I told them I had the copy of an invoice from someone who has had this problem repaired under warranty.......

Awesome!!! Glad to see your getting a bit further with your issue.

I hope it helps many others get the repairs they deserve.

I have a Black 99 Firebird of which my dad has owned since 99 I just recently bought it off of him. But that car has been his everyday car untill about one month ago, and it sat outside all of the time never was in the garage, and we live in Maryland so in the summers it will get above 90 and I have not noticed these bubbles at all.

then your car doesn't have the problem. i have a 99 that has been garage kept since 2001 and it started showin bubbles in late of 2002. i think that if your car had "the problem" it would be apparent by now.

UPDATE: I have to have the factory rep come and approve the repair. They said he only comes by once a month so hopefully he has not been around yet this month. The wheels are turning
