You'll just have to replace it. There are ways of getting old ones off, just requires patience. If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone with this problem!

Buy a 03/98 or earlier '98 car, if you want a bubble free LS1. Or buy any year car with a panel that was previously replaced.

Or, you could keep your current car and either source a used panel or sign up for the reproduction panels that 6LE will hopefully be offering soon.

So while driving home this afternoon I spotted our town's pick-a-part yard. Remembering this thread I swung by to see if they would let me buy the roof. I spoke to the lady at the counter and she said that if I could get it off, she'll let me have it for $50. I asked her if I could even being a sawz-all and just cut the roof off and she said she didn't care how I got it, as long as she got her $50 for it on my way out. Looks like I'll be going back there sometime next week or the week after with my cordless sawz-all! If I end up doing it, I'll make a thread and post pictures to show everyone else how to do it.

I'd be interested in a sail panel. Mine leaks (no suprise huh) but not bad. It is just annoying to see 4 or 5 little streaks of goo coming out and making that area look bad.

i have a 2001 3.8V6 Camaro with 37.000km (23.000 miles) , i am living in the Netherlands (Europe).
My car is most of the time in mine garage, but i noticed some litte bubbles on the downside of the panel, in the near of the rear panel.

I drove to a yunkyard last week, and looked at a 96 Firebird.
I had bought some cutting wire from Carglass (firm who replacing windshields) but it is almost impossible to cut through this kit, it is so dammned hard (maybe because it is cold outside).

But there is something i don't understand, why won't make GM these panels anymore, a lot of F-body fans will buy these panels, so they can make profit of it, and everybody is happy.

Ok everyone, PLEASE START PUTTING SOME MONEY BACK FOR THIS...

The sail panel arrived to me and looks great. This week I'll take it to my three manufacturers and get pricing. IF (after I get pricing) I HAVE 10 PEOPLE READY TO PAY (I'll let you know the time line to receive the piece once you pay) for the part (you'll pay for shipping later when it is ready) THEN WE WILL MOVE FORWARD.

10 normally won't pay half the mold costs but it will be a start that I'm willing to invest in... That being said, once you pay you own a sail panel (no refunds because your brother's uncle's dog farted and caused you to wreck your car) and will be responsible to pay for shipping it to you (or picking it up).

If you can't pay for shipping find a buyer because I'll put a limit on it (say 30-90 days after it is ready to ship) and then I own it again.

I hate to do this but it is a business... I've never had to do this and I've actually done a lot for people before who end up with a wrecked car or a hardship and need money BUT the "official" policy is above.

That being said, as soon as I have pricing this week I'll start a new thread for people to order in and post a link in here...

Hopefully, this thread can eventually get edited to simply say "GM sucks but you can buy a fix here..."

It will be easier when the weather warms up to cut through the glue.

6LE are you only producing the T-Top Roof Sail Panel? A hardtop replacment would help alot of 1998-2002 Camaro hardtop owners also.
