Still no pix of the Carbon Fiber one installed on someone's car? Did I miss it on another thread?

There are some pics in another thread... I think it was in the appearance thread or Paint thread... Just search and it'll come up

Yeah, I was hoping to find pix of the carbon fiber top on a black WS6 to see how it looks in contrast. Can only find a pic of a red Camaro at this point. Oh well...

Sorry, I haven't read this whoe thread, but a simple re-paint can't fix this permenantly? you HAVE to buy a new body part?

No, you have to replace the part and remove the glue underneath. Others have tried all manners of paints and sealants. Nothing seems to work.

Yes, you have to buy one. The issue is with the adhesive, and it physically comes through the sail panel.... like a zit that's popped.

What are your thoughts on a carbon fiber vinyl wrap to cover them?? Anyone try? I know there will still be small bubbles but at least they will be hidden.

Anyone have the instructions from the TSB to do this job? Headliner has to come all the way out?

What adhesive do you use?

Im seriously considering that too. After waiting ******* decades for a sail panel maybe I will up doing that. There is a 3M wrap that os even textured like carbon fiber, I will go with a silver one to match the color of my car.

My experience with this sail panel issue has been horrible. Where I live is difficult to find a used one. Its so stupid, having money for the damn thing and not finding anyone that could send me one with me covering the shipping and the work of removing it, plus the piece itself of course.

Im seriously PISSED off with this damn sail panel issue.

Would not fix the issue, the glue is still under there.

You would have bumpy carbon fiber wrap.

I think there is a link to the TSB on one of the first few pages of this thread. It also includes the approved glues to use.

I don't see any reason to remove the headliner for this job. They did not remove mine when my roof was replaced by GM.

My car (75k) has just started to bubble up. I damn near cried; I thought all this time, mine was immune to this disorder

I only have 32k on my 2000 WS6 - have yet to see nary a bubble. Prolly because the car spends a majority of it's life protected from the hot sun in the garage (except when at cruises/shows).

I see you have BMW E90 as your DD, I have an 09' E92 as mine - do you post over at E90Post forum?

i'm a member.. I have maybe 5 posts to my name there

I read a whole lot though on e90post. Love Love Love my e90. I had a e39 before; loved that too. Although my E39 was much more comfortable than my e90. I had a hard time finding a E9x with iDrive but i'm glad I did. It's easily my favorite feature

Rock on dude, you guys rule. If my GM repaired panel ever goes south on me I'll have to pick this up if you're still making it. Maybe I'll pick up an extra just in case

I hate the carbon fiber look, but fitment on that panel is fantastic! Has fitment on the fiberglass panels generally been this good as well?

Thanks to 6LE for making some quality pieces that fit well.
