2001 Camaro SS hardtop, 59,000 miles and GMAC just signed off to fix it for free. Everything was done through the dealership. I can't wait to finally have a blemish/scratch free hardtop. The roof of my car has easily over 100 of these "pimples" on it.

My MMM Camaro had a serious bubble issue.

My BR Camaro hasn't and still doesn't have a problem...

Exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. For the past year I've had one little bubble seeping a little. The when we were in the process of moving I left the car outside all day in the hot sun and it looks like I lit the thing on fire! Now you can see where they glued it all the way across the whole top Gives me a sick feeling in my stomach when I look at it now!
I haven't had a chance to take it to the dealership yet but I am dreading it from everything I've read.

Great news for me, I got a call yesterday that I got approved to get mine fixed. The district manager (didn't even see my car) said GM will fix in good faith or something like that. I guess having a low mileage car that is super clean with some bling under the hood helps.

The service manager and paint shop manager must have really liked my car and put a good word in for me.

I'm going to try to get it done next week if they get all the parts then.

Wish me luck!

Bill

Mine has some really tiny bubbles in it, but so far they're not very noticable unless you're looking at the roof halo at just the right angle.

Well after doing some haggling I got the work approved. I have a 2000 and it has about 40k on the clock so I'm past the 36/36 warranty. They kept trying to say that car was out of warranty based on this, but I insisted it's covered under the rust through protection. They then said that it has to actually rust through and pop the paint. I kept calm and mentioned it was just a matter of time and they eventually agreed after I showed him how bad it was.

This is one of those things that if your dealing with nice reasonable people, then you'll have a good chance of getting it fixed. I have a dealership here (star pontiac in leesburg) that has a bunch of ******** working there. I'm probably going to call back and complain to the mgr about the guy I spoke with. He's always a dick on the phone and in person. I just went to Chevy dealer even though I have a trans am and have had much better sucess.

Like mentioned in above posts:

Step 1 call the 1800 number and get the ball rolling. Have them send you to a dealership.
Step 2 get the work approved and make sure to mention that the regional people (1800 #) sent you to get the approval of work based on the rust through protection. This is as far as I've gotten so far. Another key is to just be persistent and courtious.

I just got mine fixed under warranty too. It looks so much better - I had forgotten what a flat roof looked like. I had to clay some overspray off the spoiler/hood, but that's ok considering the dealer was cool enough to take care of the roof. It was in and out in 3 1/2 days.

Well...it finally happened to me Was washing the car the other day and the dreaded bubble It's only one, but, I figured I would try to nip it in the butt early before it gets really bad. Called my dealer that I purchased the car from, then went down there. He looked at it and told me to call GM to get the ball rolling. Called GM got a s/r number and said she would contact my dealer tomorrow. I know my service manager really well cause I do alot of business there. I told him I called GM and that they will probably be calling him tomorrow. About an hour or so later he called me and said that the best he could do for me was pay half of the $1000 it would cost to fix it. So I'm gonna wait and see if GM calls him and tells him differently but it looks like I'm gonna have to pay half. If anyone one has more advice for me let me know. Good ole GM
