Default Air Brushed On License Plate!

A guy I know is building a new truck with some rather crazy body modifications and he is wondering if he can have license plates airbrushed on or perhaps some decals made and would it be in any way legal???

I think it'd be cool if that could some way be done and legal

I am gonna have to say negative on that one. I don't think you can do anything to your license plate. Might just be rumor but I heard that you are not even supposed to spray that anti-photo crap on there. I don't know for sure but I would advise him not to do it.

It's a spray that glares or something so cameras can't get a clear image of your plate. Some states have mechanisms in place that get you violating a traffic law like speed traps, taking the picture and mailing you a ticket later.

I see the product in the classifieds in Popular Mechanics sometimes.

Yeah im sure anything you do to your licence plate is illegal. but if it looks like it came that way and its not very noticeable it would probley be fine.

there is no way that could be legal, but i guess depending on where you live you could maybe get away with it.

The only way that is legal is for the dmv to start issuing stickers or to start spray painting your plates on. Here in NY you can't do anything to your plates (no even a clear cover)

I don't think yall are getting it. I think he's talking about removing the plate, and airbrushing a picture of a plate on. I think it would be badass.

It would be great if they started optionally issuing "sticker" plates. Just a decal, it could even be reflective and even more visible... I think it'd look good on some TAs, camaro's might have a hard time though...

Even if the guy gets it to look exactly right, he's going to have a hard time getting it reflect the same way when you shine your headlights on it at night.
