LS6 cam and springs

LS6 cam and springs
I will have a LS6 cam going in shortly along with the appropriate valve springs. Presently the car has a descreened MAF and a tune for a TR224. Would I be better off running the car with the TR224 tune for the time being, or flashing a stock 02 Tune onto the car (or even picking up a MAF with a screen...?)? I have EFI Live, but I just don't have a WB02... I have heard mixed reviews of this cam needing tuning badly, and some don't need tuning at all. I know you should have the car tuned after every big mod, but I wanted to get some input from those who have done the swap and impressions afterwards. Thanks.

Uhhh LS6 cam needing tuning? Copy a stock Z06 tune into your car at best. LS6 cam is a joke noobs talk about when upgrading their stock LS1 cam. Please enlighten me, but WTF are you talking about? Throw that cam away and don't waste you money even installing it!

Aftermarket cams roughen up your idle, cause driveability issues, require a tune, and usually kill your fuel economy.
The LS6 drives just like the stock cam, sacrifices no fuel efficiency, and still gives you a bump in power. Nothing wrong with that.

Still the Z06/LS6 cam, especially older ones, are not
that different than stock - especially down low where
most of the cam tuning trouble is. I would leave the
tune stock rather than go a 224-based VE map.
If you wanted to copy just the Primary VE table from
a proper year Z06 tune, that would be sensible. But
I don't think they differ much, and any differences
may be more about intake / exhaust plumbing than
the cam.
