I have to ask, why the heck are you charging for software updates? So after 6 months, I gotta pay another $100 if I want a bug or something fixed? What kind of updates do you anticipate in providing?
For someone who was hellbent on hacking the GM OBDII PCM and making the knowledge open source, so that few select companies wouldn't keep taking advantage of people, I am very disappointed.
I know, I know, it is either you or carputing, but I guess I was hoping you would take a more customer friendly approach.

I don't think that the new guy on the scene should charge for updates for the first year, and the 6 month update structure of Carputing should not be used as a benchmark it's one of the aspects of Carputing that I don't like.

Dee, sorry to dissapoint you.
There is no way it will take us 6 months to release any type of bug fixes... Critical bug fixes we can release to the customer over night and produce global updates for all users in weeks or months. We will be very prompt on our bug fixes.
The "update" period is for software updates realy. I don't consider them bug fixes as it won't take that long at all to release bug fixes. however we WILL be updating our software continuousely to add new features and such.

John, its just a standard structure we all came up with.
I'd like to make a few things clear.......
We will be releasing software fixes/updates regularly.. not bi-anually or tri-anually.. this is something we realy want to be prompt on.
Also, there is nothing that says if your support has expired that we won't cut you break and send you new software.
I ask that you too do not use the carputing 6 month structure as a benchmark. 6 month structure doesn't appeal too much if it takes 6 months to get updates. If updates are released on a monthly basis, the 6 month structure makes a lot more sense.
But like I said previously, there is nothing that prevents us from giving away updates post update expiration date... we do want to support our customers here.

Everyone don't forget about tunercat. They are releasing their OBDII tuning software within the month. You can email tc@tunercat.com for updates. This will make 3 tuners on the market. Which one will win the battle? In mymind LS1Edit has already lost though.
I'll be buying one of the other two.

Thanks for the updates Keith.
I know that I'll be reccomending Keith over most other folks for the simple reason that his product is accurate, loads fast, comes with a scan tool and he's easy to reach during the day.

Yea... and if you loose connection during the tune you're not SOL and told to send the PCM to another company w/50 bux to fix... (HP tuners has a PCM recovery option for those that didn't know)
