I've ditched the MAF a long time ago and run a custom 1 bar SD tune. But I noticed that the highest I can go is 85 kpa. Just wondering if thats normal or if anyone is going higher. If that seems low then do you think a 90mm FAST and 90mm NW TB would cause this or be too small?

It depends on what it is with KOEO. Altitude will make it vary from one location to another.

Seems low to me, but it could be a calibration issue. I doubt your 90mm stuff is the cause. Might check for vacuum leaks, or general engine health.

I guess i should mention I'm in el paso, tx. The elevation here is 3,800-3,900 ft. And the track i run at in Clint, tx is even higher. Think that could be it? A lot of guys tell me my 11.5 1/4 mile times could be a 10.9 at a better elevation. Maybe the thin air is why I'm only seeing 85 kpa?

Yes it matters. :-)

At sea level I get 99-100kPa. At speed I get about 102kPa but my setup is a little more free flowing than most. When I drive to Amsterdam my MAP actually pegs due to being below sea level.

Turbo equals altitude compensation device!

Wow. Well i guess i found the reason. Must be nice getting 100 kpa or more. I used a DA calculator and the night i ran my 11.5 the DA was 5,688ft. Maybe one day I'll go to a track at better elevation and run high 10s.

Turn the key on, engine off and see what kpa the MAP sees for ambient air. If you are within 1-3 kpa of that at WOT it should be good to go.

(if I'm wrong anyone can feel free to correct me)

What you can do anything about, is the difference
between BARO and MAP (the pressure dropped between
the great outdoors, and the intake manifold plenum).

85kPa KOEO and 84kPa WOT@6500RPM, you're good.
Nothing but about a percent left on the table.

95kPa KOEO and 85kPa WOT, you've got restrictions
that are well worth chasing out. Begin with throttle
cable draw and blade angle, plenty of F-bodies driving
around that don't make full open, matted. Then look to
MAF screen, dirty air filter and so on.

Now, a very good exhaust, heads and cam will make
the motor more able to draw down against the inlet
tract restriction-stackup, no matter how good that
may be. This would be a good problem to have.

In theory, with a "ram air" hood... you can see greater than atmospheric pressure. I don't know that there are many real world examples to support the claim but wouldn't it be cool if it actually worked!

Thanks for the ideas guys. Never thought of checking it with engine off. I'll do that when i get home.

I don't have the maf, running speed density, no air filter (only at track) ws6 hood and slp lid, fast intake, AFR 225 heads, Kooks 1 7/8 LT's, Kooks Y, and LM1 cat back. So there shouldn't be any restrictions. But like i said I'll check the MAP reading with engine off when i get home

I raced there when I lived in El Paso. Wait until summer and the car will feel like a turd when the DA is 7k+.

It'll feel like it has a 150 shot of nitrous when you get to sea level.

Sorry guys, I forgot to post after I tried it. With KOEO the map is reading 86 KPA. So I guess that means my set up is about as efficient as its going to get, but this elevation is just stupid high.

I usually see between 79-81 kpa here, this is what it is today:
