So you dead shorted the battery? That's what it looks like you said....
You still didn't answer my question- who told you to do it that way?

You might want to look up how the idle air sensor is "set" .With no battery in the system, touching the cables to each other achieves NOTHING. There is no power anywhere to do anything. I would question the mechanic on this...

Again, you might want to read a manual yourself to check on this. The ECU does not retain any power of its own.

I am an automotive locksmith here in Atlanta. When I have issues with a car not wanting to take a key program,
I have to disconnect both battery cables and touch them together for a couple of seconds. Then it will take my program.
Nissan's are the worst !!!!!
Just saying......not trying to start anything.

Well OK, another one says that's what you do. I have to plead ignorance on this! lol I have a feeling touching the leads grounds everything, I guess it erases certain things. Hey I learned something!
Tazz, I hope you can resolve the issue!

Touching the cables together used to be popular years ago for erasing all the learned items in the pcm, iac, fuel trims, adaptive in trans etc... it was quicker than leaving the battery unhooked for 5-10 mins.
OP...goggle IAC relearn procedure and see if that helps. If you cleaned the TB and did the relearn and it still idles high you have a leak somewhere.
