Default Question for guys with engine management Accel/Fast/BSIII

I'd like to know what options were lost when u installed a FAST/ACCEL or BSII into your car other than the dash (Gauges)

Did the lights still function,h/l motors go up and down, abs, heat etc.
I wanna install a BSIII with John M. harness into my car and at this point I dont care if I lose a few things.I can put a water/oil psi on my pillar,I dont need a tach (A4) speedo I can hook up via a conversion (truck style).I would like to keep heat and all lights,h/l function and signals...Does installing a stand a lone casue these things to go buh bye,I've only installed a piggy back type and that was in LT1 cars....

Anyone with a stand a lone please give me some info...

I have FAST bank/bank standalone:

Did the lights still function,h/l motors go up and down, abs, heat etc.
-all lights work they are part of the body control harness not the engine control harness
-I lost ABS long ago when I did my 9", I have no idea
-I have heat

-I have a 98, I lost all the gauges except fuel level
-I am running aftermarket 5" tach off the FAST
-I am planning to make custom gauge cluster to run all aftermarket gauges

I was under the impression from what was posted about the BSIII that it was a direct plug and play, i.e. used the stock harness and sensors, system.

Does the harness have to be replaced?

Yes it is a plug and play but u will lose some functions.
I think John is correct,I will lose gauges,abs...

My H/L and heat and all controls will still work.
Then I'll need to figure out how to get my gauges back on line.

I dont think I'm gonna order a trans option.
I can set shift points via edit and once there done I wont need to do it anymore.

Thanks John....

You lose the gauges, you would need to wire them into the BS3. That is the case for all aftermarket pcm solutions.

The BS3 now interfaces to the RacePak UltraDash via a high speed CAN link and you can display 6 things on each screen. There are 4 screens. Currently I display MPH, engine rpm, AFR, TPS%, Fuel pressure and Spark advance on 1 screen. Trans gear, pan vacuum, TCC %DC, line pressure, and 2 others... I can't remember now are on screen 2. You can even program the dash for a shift light or warning light (i.e. low oil pressure). The dash has a built in record and playback feature also.
