Default read/was told to raise PE map with a cam, technical explanation of why please?

i did this cause i was told by many to do it but i still dont understand why? stock map was set to 15 and the car idled at 30 kpa? can someone let me knw? thanks

Your PE enable TPS should keep PE off, at idle. But you
will find that moderate pedal, low RPM can also give
you higher-MAP operation than pre-cam-swap. In my
thinking the only downside to this is that you might be
over-enriched. But you can tailor this by the PE/RPM
table (and OLFA/MAP) to adjust the actual mixture.

ok so raise the map setting so i wont enrich when i dont need it, what about the olfa, that is only in use for cold starting? or some pe operation as well? just starting to get into this stuff so im not 100% clear on some of it. thanks for the info so far

ok i reread it and i just read it wrong, but when is the olfa table in use, just open loop? like cold start or open loop WOT too?

During OL WOT it can fall either into PE mode or OLFA. It will use the richer of the two values. Therefore if you are leaning out a car during PE mode, you need to be sure that you OLFA table multiplier at that corresponding RPM/MAP, is set to the same value or leaner as your PE mulitplier. Otherwise you will be running on the OLFA instead of the PE. I hope I explained that correctly...

ok so my pe table is at 1.18 for the time being, olfa is 1.13 at the highest in the hot cells, so they would not be used, if i drop pe under 1.13 then olfa needs to be changed, right?
