I am scanning my 2002 ZO6 since 2 month with HPT 1.7 and had no problem with the histogram.
I update to the new 2.0 version two weeks ago, and I am always learning this fabulous detailed tool, improvement is everywhere and I like it.
My problem is when I want to read and scan my :
-“Main Spark-Timing Advance,Timing Advance (°)"
-“Main Spark-Knock Retard, Timing Retard (°)”
I catch °# in the 1.20 row ONLY of the histo for Cylinder Airmass (g/cyl) vs Engine Speed.
Can you help me, I don’t feel comfortable not having a direct read for Knock.
I also have read some log file that I scanned with the 1.7 version and Timing and Knock are not working, before it was working….
Everything else is working fine !!!!
May be the histo config but I am lost….

Hi Dixit
I can email you this Scan File,.HPL., but I have no idea of how do it actually.
You can have a look on what I read now after ~20' of scanning on my timing histogram.
what do you think ?

That image is too small for me to see anything. To email me the file use your Outlook, Outlook Express and use the file attachment feature and attach the file. If you are using a web based email, do the same thing, there is a file attach feature.

I sent you an email back, I opened your scan and did a LOAD ALL DATA and the historam was full of data. I checked the settings on my histogram and its identical to the one you sent in the email. Try closing the scanner app, open it back up, load the scan, then right click the histogram and Load All Data

Thanks a lot for your help Dixit
I agree with you, Something is definetely wrong there !!!!
I don't know if it is a bug or a problem on my machine with maybe the .NET Framework.
You can read my file with your HPT, this is what you obtain when you read my files:
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v481/miami993c297/readscanwithHPTDixit.jpg)
Ans this is what I obtain when I open the log file then right click on the histogram and do a LOAD ALL DATA :

SOUNDENGINEER may be a suggestion

yeah...that all looks right.....
the next step is to contact tech support at hp tuners... support@hptuners.com
it may be isolated to a "grouping" of bad cables.... or a bug with your particular vehicle OS...
you will need to send all your info(Name, address, phone,Cable ID,what version of HPT...2.0.xx,windows version-XP/2K/NT/98) as well as the current vehicle OS info(you can get it in your editor under calibration Details) and vehicle ID(also found there)
you will need to explain it fully in your e-mail.
it is possible you got one of the cables that was in a defective batch....it was kind of isolated..and they fix it for free
make sure to do a full hard reset of teh computer...power down..unplug it for 2 minutes.....try it again...
re do the .net package..I posted a link to the most recent update on the HPTuners.com forum in the "General" section....
it really seems like a .net issue to me more than anything else....
but it might not be....

Thank you for those precise info
I am moving today and will be down for internet connection for a few days, asap I will contact the tech support at hp tuners and will explain this "problem" with the new version in details to them.
For the moment I am turning-back my XP lap top to the "old version" of HPT 1.7, I hope my problem will be solved quickly, the 2.0 update is a huge improvement.
I will keep you update on how it goes on asa I will be back.

THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED :
Keith spent time to guide me through different tests and finally discovered that I had my computer set up with some European numbers.
I changed in the control panel the time zone and the format of the numbers from "French" to "English United States" and it works PERFECTLY.
Special Thank to Keith and congrat for this FABULOUS HPT customer service.
