your rpm shouldn't be going down like that with the mods that you have. put your stock maf back on and get a good tune. those things can hurt you more than help you, you just have to know how to tune for them.

oh the rpms started dipping when I put the dynatech stepped headers. maybe scavanging? and I forgot to mention that I pretty much got the maf table dialed in but I haven't done my VE table. so I'm back to square 1, so i got here so maybe i can get pointed in the right direction

You should tune the VE before the MAF. You need to put it in open loop, speed density and get the VE table on first. That is what is causing it to die off - likely rich from the longtubes. What software are you using? Do you have a wideband? The only way to do it right is with a wideband and software that can use the wideband readings to build the tables.

HPTuners has a pretty good writeup on tuning the VE, have you read that? Do you have a wideband?

No, I currently don't have a wideband and i've been doing most of this stuff using narrow bad "02's" I read a pretty good article on tuning the VE on installuniversity.com I don't know how accurate it is, have you read it? has a couple formlas and such.

I really recommend getting a wideband - it is really the only way to do it right. I tune cars everyday, and have seen where the tables are way off, but the narrow bands don't show it. You would not believe till you see them graphed against a wideband how often it is true. And same goes for WOT - that idea of 890mv to 920mv is often off and represents a very large margin in actual AFR.

I say it over and over - get a wideband and do it right, or pay someone else to do it right. You won't be sorry once you see how good the tune can be when done right. I recommend the LM-1 or LC-1 from Innovate.

cool, bro, hey one more question when you tuned your misfire threshold, for ex. "random misfire converter fix?" how did you adjust it. i read a post on here but when i did that which wa moving the number to like 32678 or somehting like that my converte wouldn't lock up at all.
