Default Stock 98 M6 .bin needed (HPT)

I am tryig to reflash my PCM from an A4 to a M6. The tune I found in the repository would not work for this. I need a stock, or near stock 98 M6 tune to use. Any help?

attached is a read from my 1998 ws6 m6 (160 speed limiter) as reflashed from a tech 2 back in january 2006.

I hope this helps.

Warning: whenever you do any reflashing of any 1998 PCM's you must make sure the file is good, and if you get any checksum issues the pcm is toast.

very little needs to be changed. going the other direction you need more tables to set up for the A4 but for the M6 it ignores the A4 stuff, zero out the P/N idle cells, make the IN DRIVE & IN PARK/N idle spark tables the same, copy in some stall protect tables, turn off any DCT's dealing with trans, disable ABUSE mode, zero out trans diag tables, should be it.

Serial number looks odd to me in this file, theres a chance he'll run into an licensing issue with this file because of it.

I really don't want to have a tech2 reflash my PCM. Also I really don't want to fry the PCM either. Would I be safer to do as described above. Is this all the tables that need to be moded to work?

Why can't you use the file in the HPT repository? That's the one I used on my '98 A4->M6 swap and it worked just fine.

There are actually several, the one he was using had no vcm id number which could cause licensing problems for him now & in the future so I suggested he have it flashed to a valid stock file, the repository files really are there for nothing more than viewing, I would never recommend flashing one of them to your pcm especially the 98 pcm's.

I did try to use that file. Like said there was a problem with it and it would not let me flash the file (thankfully).
