Anyone know if those jumpers do anything?

 

Please, don't mess with the jumpers. They do not have any impact at all on the programming capabilities of the cable. That's not their purpose. But you can mess up your cable if you start jumpering to unknown states.

I do know what they do. If your circuit board is green, my initials are on the back.

No, I'm proud of my work, I think of it as 'art'. You can look at it all you want. Admire the shiny pieces. Become entranced by the blinky lights... OK, ok, sometimes I go too far... :p

But start moving jumpers around, and there's NO warranty, and you will not do anything but mess up your interface. It has absolutly no bearing on the capabilities of the interface. ALL interfaces, no matter the version or capabilities, are jumpered exactly the same.

Hey what information can be interpreted from those pretty little blinky lights? It would seem the user is supposed to benifit from them somehow since we have a window in front of them.

 

Dunno what these are but some debug jumpers often end up in product versions from prototypes. Also some of them are probably used when the cable program flash is set up.

 

Maybe they set the single, double, or unlimited program modes of the cable. Just a guess, but for your sake I wouldn't touch it.

 

I really doubt that! They would not be too smart to have implemented it that way!

You have to ask yourself is the security built into the cable, or the software I've read about all the security built in to Edit. They've gone out of their way to make sure it doesn't get hacked.

 

Its in the cable. Carputing is very smart.

Even though their software is very pricey, it does get the job done for MANY people. They did what was necessary to get custom tuning out to the masses.

 

I dont want to steal anything from them, but I've got a vehicle on my cable that was totalled and carputing wont help me out at all. I just want to transfer my license from the old truck to a new one.

 

Can't u do this by transferring the CPU from the crash car to the user car?

 

Speaking of them, where can one find out what they mean?

Well, a single cable is compared to a multiple cable and you look. If the same, forget it and go away. If different, then you ask why?
