ACCEL DFI GEN 7 FOR THE LS1/LS6
Coming soon to an LS-1 near you!
Mr. Gasket and ACCEL/DFI would like to inform you of the imminent availability of our DFI Generation 7+ Engine Management System for General Motors LS-1/LS-6 engine applications. Units are currently in production and will be arriving by early September 2003. This package will allow you to install a Gen 7+ kit on an LS-1 or LS-6 platform, taking advantage of the stock sensors and harness on the engine while eliminating the need to purchase additional adapters, sensors, coil packs or triggering devices.
Now, nothing is impossible! The DFI Gen 7+ Engine Management System frees you from the constraints of factory PCM-based modifications! You can now have full sequential control of your LS-1/LS-6 based powerplant, including standard functions like Dual Fans, Torque Converter, Shift Light, Malfunction Indicator, and Wideband Oxygen Sensor controls. Additionally, the DFI system also introduces an unparalleled level of control for Nitrous, Turbocharged, Supercharged, and other advanced engine applications.
We expect to see some BIG power numbers generated by the LS-1 crowd with the use of the DFI Gen 7+ system!

sorry to say I don't have pricing at this time but it will be very reasonable. The total cost of the system will be less then the total cost of the competitors systems currently on the market.

Re: ACCEL DFI GEN 7 FOR THE LS1/LS6
Will fueling still be based on the MAF setup or controlled by a wideband closed loop control setup?
Also, are we talking true plug and play or will hacking up the harness be necessary?
Keep us updated.

well prostockjohn has contacted me before at my home email, as I work for Accel and have been in contact with him before concerning the release date. The harness is a piggyback style to your factory it will plug directly in to you stock sensors in cluding cam and crank. Trust me guys the system kicks ***, we have a ls1 running on a stand with our system alone. Your factory ecm will be retained for guages and such but if you go all out race you could use this alone with a manual trans and need no other computer. Think about it no 02 sims, no cats, no maf, true sequential control,100% control of your timing built in timing and fuel curves for boost, turbo boost builder, on datalogging, but in 2 step, built in shift light control, on board control for dual elec fans. www.mrgasket.com and follow the accel DFI links.

When you get a price let me know please. Sounds like it could be an awesome solution to our PCM limitations.

The motor that the module was developed on was a 1998 motor.
the only splicing requied is 2 wires battery power and switched power, belive me guys the hook up is basically plug and tune.
On board 3d mapping and adjustment for fueling and spark, nitrous control (3 stage)
dual elec fan control,
a/c idle control,
boost fuel and timing control
datalogging
uses factory cam and crank signal
wideband o2 tuning is optional(no box mod needed)
self diagnostic capabilities
individual cylinder trim
internal altitude senseing and compensation
2 internal rev limiters, one can be wired to a trans brake to act as starting line rev limiter

Re: ACCEL DFI GEN 7 FOR THE LS1/LS6
Can you give us a ballpark figure? I can pick up a Motec M800 system with dual wideband and datalogging for $3300, but then I will need to figure out a wiring harness, which could be a PITA.

Re: ACCEL DFI GEN 7 FOR THE LS1/LS6
i assume that this is noah from mr gasket posting this. when i was in the emic class back in march, joe and ray both said that there was no plans to ever do a gen7 for ls1 cars. what happened? did they finally realize that there actually was a huge market for this?
nonetheless, i will probably get one and try it out on my car this fall. after messing with the gen7, it truly is awesome!

Scott I think the gen7 could work out cheaper even after you add in the wideband.
Yeah this is a legit contact at ACCEL we have talked several times.
