Angry Sigh Window Motor

Well, my drivers side window motor I think went out. Sounds like it stripped itself as it just sounds like a buzzer when trying to get the window to move.

I found this particular replacement on autozones website:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...&parentId=43-0

Hope that link works. Anyone have any experience with it? I found a quite by searching, just not to keen on having to drill holes in the door to gain access to the rivets, surely there is a different way? Also, is it pretty straight forward on how to get this aftermarket one mounted?

I can't get that link to work. I'm assuming you picked the one with the lifetime warranty? And this is for your 4th Gen.

If so, that is the motor to get. Get use to replacing your power window motors. I've owned my Formula 7 years and Driver's side has been replaced 5 times, Passenger window is going on 3. Luckily I bought the Lifetime warranty motor first time it went out so it has been free replacement, just costs my labor and frustration.

Sad thing is I don't roll my windows up and down all the time, just at banks and drive-thrus. Now if I could only find a dash-pad with a lifetime warranty. Mine has been cracked for about 2 years now and I hate spending $170 or so to buy a replacement.

Yep that's the one. I have the same one. Basically they are rebuilt motors, with a guarantee. You can do a search or LS1tech on how to install it, the first time is a pain as you have to drill out the rivets and replace them with small screws and nuts, don't forget the lockwasher. Yours may have already been replaced at least once depending on who owned your car before you.

That looks like the one I used and printed off a long time ago. Just take your time, take plenty of breaks(like I have to do). And remember you are saving yourself money by doing it yourself.

Regulator replacement isnt as difficult as it may appear. Don't sweat drilling into the door, its not metal so it goes fairly easy.

I have several years of experience as a mobile electronics installer, so not worried about drilling it, just prefer not to do it to my car.

It looks pretty easy, just got to make sure the glass is supported. Planning on stopping by autozone to pick the new motor up.

I hate doing window regulators. It saves money though.

was curious, is it possible its the regulator? When I hit the button to roll it up or down
it just makes this loud *** buzzer sound, afraid to hit down as it might not go up. Maybe one of the gears some how became stripped?

Picked up the motor, this weekend, gonna check and see what I find during surgery.

My passenger side just went out this past weekend. Interesting in that I rarely roll that window down...but it's the first to go out. I'm going to replace them both while I'm at it... *sigh*
