Anyone ever seen the LMC Truck sealed beam housings??
I know these guys aren't a sponsor, although I've noted that neither eurolights or susquehanna motorsports are either.
I figured though that this question would do better in it's own thread, rather than the one I posed before about high beams in general.
Eurolights get mixed opinions, and it seems to be the general consensus that the Bosch e-code housings are a better means of accomplishing the halogen bulb conversion, though a bit pricey.
I've found two other brands/styles of sealed beam conversions that I can buy right now.
One set seems very generic and I can't find info about it, if you google "4703 sealed beam conversion housing" you'll probably stumble on those.
But the others are made by a company called LMC truck - apparently the h4703/h4701 combo that the 98+ birds have on them was also used on the 88-89 GMC pickup trucks....
So the truck guys have the same lighting issues as us, and LMC truck offers conversion housings for the 4703 and 4701 beams, and I haven't seen any discussion of these particular housings on this site at all.....tried searching, and mostly came up with my own threads asking questions!
They are apparently aluminum and glass, but are obviously much different than the eurolights, and it's pretty clear from the pics that there is some kind of difference in the high beam vs low beam. They have some real good pictures of them available on their website (can find it via google) and they have a catalog system thats like flipping pages on a regular book.....the page I found them on is 65.
They look nice, are supposedly DOT approved/50 state road legal from what the site says......
But maybe this is something like the hella housings that I can't seem to find anywhere?
At 35 bucks apiece, I'm pretty tempted to give these a go, at least for the high beams anyhow. I don't know how the low beam would compare to the Bosch, but I was hoping someone could chime in with more info than I can find.
Im REALLY interested to know how the low beam compares to the bosch units. Eurolights low beam is decidedly worse than bosch, but bosch is expensive. LMC truck looks nice, and is less expensive, but....untested at best.
If nobody knows anything....I might bite the bullet and try them just to see.

Hah! That's actually one of the places I turned to for research - and the thing I drew from that was "my friend had these bosch housings and later changed out to get the LMC housings". But there's no follow up to that, only that someone had bosch and switched to LMC after and no report on how well it did.
I ultimately bought a full set of all 4 LMC housings, as they look nicer to my eyes, were less expensive (car has lotsa troubles) and were actually DOT approved, figured I'd get less hassles at inspection.
I'll report back when I have them installed.

Update: I got the lights and got them installed in the car. I'm not much of a guy for pics, but I am VERY pleased with the outcome for the 140 dollars I put into this. I can't type much at the moment, but I have a lot of thoughts on these that I'll try to get posted sometime soon just in case it can help anyone out.
