V6 vs V8 K member differences?
Hi Guys, is there any differences between the v6 and v8 k members clearance wise? I'm not particularly concerned with engine mount placement I'm making custom mounts anyways. My main concern is which one has more clearance at the rear near the sump.
Thanks

Wow Ive never seen a tubular next to the stocker that's a huge difference.
I think I'm gonna end up hacking up a v6 stock member for a lil more sump clearance if needed this damn engine has the sump pretty far forward.
Thanks for the side by side pics

Since you're going with custom engine mounts, you should go ahead and trim out some of the excess that runs under the engine and box it in.
You might want to consider picking up a copy of HP Books "How to Build a Winning Drag Race Chassis and Suspension" book by Wayne Scraba. The photo below can be found on page 21. They go into more depth on the next few pages.

I do plan on cutting out some of the bulk of the k member and box it in. I would love to go with a tubular for the weight reduction but Michigan has crappy roads and I have never heard of a stock/modified member breaking in half like tubulars can with a hard hit. Plus its way cheaper to get another stocker so I can cut it up.

I compared the V6 one that I pulled out of my '95 'bird with the V8 one that I bought from a '98 'bird, and the only difference I could see was the mounting holes for the engine mount pedestals.
