WTH is up w/ that hood?? Is that "PPF" from the factory that hasn't been removed yet? Makes it look like its spent all 55 miles on the road behind a gravel truck.

Is the wrapping there to "confirm" only 55 miles, if from the factory and in pace for 22 years would it come off without damaging the clear coat or transferring over and sticking to it requiring serious buffing to fix? I agree @JohnnyBs98WS6Rag that hood alone knocks $50k off the price for me! If I were to pay $90k for a "new" 22 year old car it would need to be concourse. 55 miles means nothing if you'd need to shell out $5k+ just to paint/match the hood and get it back on the car with "perfect" alignment (most likely taking 6 months to do).

I agree with the guys above; I worry about the paint condition under that protective sheeting. That stuff wasn't meant to be on the paint for 2+ decades, especially when you consider that it was originally applied shortly after the car was painted and before any kind of sealant or wax had ever been applied. It's literally stuck to bare paint, and it's supposed to be removed during dealer prep - a temporary protection measure that has, in this case, become more of an "experiment" to see just what sort of shape the paint is actually in underneath. I guess it doesn't matter if the buyer has no plans to remove it though.

Either way, it's not 2022 any more; prices have come down a bit and I think this one would have been a hard sell at that price even back then. It will keep getting relisted until the price comes down by 10s of thousands of dollars, IMO.

Another dealership or some other museum type place that is modeled after a 2000’s Chevy dealer showroom will have to buy it so they can have it as a display, plastic on the paint and all.

A museum makes sense and maybe that is what they are hoping for, or one of those B-J auction buyers with 'more cents than sense' as the old saying goes. That hood film has to be removed though even as a display piece. Not a good look. I almost feel like going on a 3 hour day trip to have a look at it. They have many cool cars on their lot anyway and located right near the speedway.

The clearcoat that ASC used for the RA hoods didn't have UV protection. Most faded over time. Maybe that is a clear plastic on the hood. Hard to tell from pics.

Yeah, I was thinking that also. If the market isn't Jay Leno, Dennis Collins or some other museum place, that is a connoisseur of all manner of GM plastic (hey honey look, ...and here's the plastic GM put on the paint. How about that, huh?), where is the market for this thing?

For the rest of us, a $90k, garden variety, ws6, that has all its value wrapped up in its unusual low miles, and is likely a bit of a basket case, is a tough sell. Like everyone else here has mentioned, there are the obvious paint concerns, plus the sail panel, door panel crack prevention, and the, to keep it brief, mechanical issues you'll have to clean up to drive it. So much for originality.

That's not faded paint that you see in those pics - it's protective plastic sheeting that should have been removed over two decades ago.

That's a car that sits in a collection somewhere. Yeah I went back and edited my original post. I didn't think about clear plastic on the hood.

^^^ As RPM WS6 explained in the post above yours, it is a film. Hard to say what is underneath after 2 decades. I'm sure a professional detailer could be utilized if there is a problem.
