Default how to carry bikes on an 02 formula

Does anyone have any ideas on how to carry bikes on an 02 formula? I thought about getting a hitch, but I dont want to do that. I bought a saris bones 2 trunk/bumper mount rack, but the hooks do not stay in the top of the hatch very well. the cheap walmart ones would seem to have the same problem

Yank the front wheel off and stick it in the back. I did that with my old 87 quite a number of times. I just got some towels for the tires on the drive home.

seriously take the front wheel off and roll the rear seat down... You could probably use bunggies(sp) around the rear seat to keep it in place.

Ya hire a taxi to carry the bikes and have them meet you at your destination.

drive it with the hatch open. Bungee the hatch down as much as you can and dont go over 50 mph.

I had the same issue, and here is the solution I came up with... I got a hitch. and a rack that extends the bike far enough so the bike is no where near your paint... and it fits two bikes...

The only down side, when you have the rack off you have to look at the ugly *** hitch

My hatchback bike rack says it will fit the 'standard' Firebird spoiler 93-02 (no T/A). But I am too nervous to put it on there. It always goes on the wife's car.

Just get a hitch...I had a hidden hitch and when not in use NOBODY ever noticed. I got it tow my motorcycle but never got around to using it before I bought my truck. It's been sitting in my garage ever since and if you're interested I'll be glad to sell it to you. Give me an email adress and I'll send you a pic of it installed on my car.
