Default Any chance GM will Re-Badge G8?

As the title says. It would make sense to me for them to re-badge the G8 to a chevy something or other. Maybe a Caprice or Lumina???

I was thinking the same thing. I hope they decide to continue on with this platform in America. I think it would be cool if they brought the Holden name to the states.

Speaking of Holden, what happens to them if GM Files? GM is the parent company right?

I hope they do this. Having the G8 as a one or two year car sucks. I hope they don't break the molds so soon. I think the G8 is an awesome car.

WTF?? come on, now a Caprice is a "big body" and a Lumina is just a basic model chevy. I was thinking maybe Impala/Impala SS, Comodore, or a whole new name all together.

Anyway, I def HOPE it is continued here in America for at least a couple years. . .

I've heard that Buick might get it and come back as a GN or GS.

I have wanted to know this also. I want a G8, but don't want a car that I can't get oem parts for in the future.

Try to get parts for a 2002 Camaro right now from the dealership!!

Many things are already depleted...

You can't get many bolts, seat covers, interior panels, window switch plates, seat belt webbing, , ect.
There are a ton of parts you can't get anymore.

The Holden Commodore has been made for a couple of years so there are parts out there plus GM has to supply parts for the year for X many years by law.

What, nobody wants to call it a 4-door Vega? OK that's a bad joke

I would love a G8 or whatever it gets called one day if they continue it.

A GXP would be a bad *** baby hauler. My camaro can't handle 2 baby seats...

I was just trying to name a few 4 door sedans. I doubt they will call it the impala. I could care less about the name just as long as they continue to make the car.

I completely agree that the G8 should be rebadged in to the GM lineup somewhere.

All car manufacturers have to keep parts available for 10 years, at the very least, by Law.

I could see them rebadging as a Chevelle SS, or Malibu SS, something of that nature. Or, if Buick does take it over, I could see them badging it as a Skylark GS, GN, or Regal of some sort.

I don't really care. This is the first car I have actually been excited to see produced. All others are pretty much "ho hum" but I DO like the G8 and all it has to offer.

You are right and I did forget about the commodore, but it is just a bad deal with Pontiac going out. I really hope the G8 will be rebadged under another name. I Would rather one of them over a new Camaro.
